Diverse yoruba interest groups including the Yoruba World Congress (YWC), Yoruba People’s Congress and Federation of Yoruba Consciousness and Culture on Wednesday held a peaceful rally in Akure, the Ondo State capital in support of the newly introduced South West regional security outfit, Operation Amotekun. The rally kicked off at the MKO Abiola democracy park, Akure around 11am. Participants at the rally wore clothes with the inscription of Amotekun. It was staged by youths from various tertiary institutions in the state, traders and artisans. The procession later moved to the palace of the Deji of Akure, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo and the office of the Governor, Alagbaka, Akure. At Deji of Akure’palace, the monarch who spoke through his Chief of Staff, Toyin Aladetoyinbo urged those participating in the rally to maintain peace and carried out their activities lawfully. The monarch said the people of Akure are in support of any process that would bring peace and cohesion to the South West region. Cooordinator of the groups, Mr Oluyi Akintade said the rally was to express support for the South West Governors on Operation Amotekun. He urged the Governors not to bow to pressure from Federal Government. According to him,Operation Amotekun has come to stay in the South West, stressing that no force could stop it. His words” The people of Yoruba land are solidly behind the Governor and we shall continue to stand by them. ” Yoruba people have spoken with one voice and we are determined to ensure that Operation Amotekun stays. We are appealing to the six Governors of the South West to stand by their people on this project. https://thenationonlineng.net/operation-amotekun-rally-holds-in-ondo/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Amotekun is unsustainable and an “Overstretch of security functions.”Amotekun is Southwest leaders’ saddest slide to uncivilized and irresponsible leadership and should not be condoned or allowed to stand. they have senators and representatives who can engage others in national assembly for the proper thing to be done. Media can't give them Amotekun neither will protest do. let their senators and representatives who has been quiet over it get to work. On behalf of all fulanis living in the south west, we reject Amotekun aimed at persecuting our fellow Nigerians. Nigerian constitution guarantees freedom of movement to all Nigerians within the country. We arewas say No to Amotekun. enuff said

Nigerian is fooled! President Buhari can never be deceived with such antics of retrogressives and destroyers of Nigeria in the #NextLevel. The promoters of Amotekun have field might to purchase arms and ammunitions to threaten everybody unlawfully; but President Buhari has the executive might, much greater than a thousand-armed Amotekuns! |

Hillsong34:Lol! I forgot fulanis get 4 legs and hands and also maybe they immune to bullets and bombs. Guy no one has monopoly of violence, Fulanis are so lazy ordinary street gangs in congo defeated them. They only know to attack when people are sleeping. |

Hillsong34:The Fulanis are too primitive to survive on their own and they can't thrive in a state of order and rationality, either. that is why anything that will bring a bit of sanity and rationality in the society drives them bonkers. Nigeria is a lawless and irrational country, so communities should do what they can to protect themselves and their territories. |
