COLD START SWITCH

The cold start injector, also referred to as the cold start valve, is an engine management component found on many road going vehicles. It's purpose is to supply the engine with additional fuel to enrich the fuel mixture in cold temperatures where air density is increased and additional fuel is required

The cold start injector works only when the engine has a cold start, or when the engine's temperature is below a certain point. When this happens, a computer tells the injector to inject more fuel into the mixture that goes through the cylinders to the engine.

Hello. I filled up my honda crv to full tank. I mean to the brim and it showed 198miles... 13.1mpg. Since on wednesday morning to now. I have driven at least 50miles with ac on at moderate speed. But still my fuel did not drop an inch. Then my mpg went from 13.1 to 13.2 and miles increased to 223. Is it normal .

Is there anything like radiator cold start
Also my fans where bypassed to ignition. I have changed another fan abt a week ago. But i want to revert back to factory. Also im using manual ac compressor .

Please what can make fuel gauge to be giving wrong reading. Sometimes when I have more than half tank fuel, and drive for some minutes the gauge will show that I am having 1/4 tank. If I park for some time and start driving again it will go back to the normal gauge of 1/2 tank. Please what can be the cause so that I can tell my Mechanic what to do. Car is 06 Camry.

TRANSMISSION FILTER

What are signs that the transmission filter needs to be changed?

Noise. If you hear clunking or rattling, or if the transmission shifts hard with a jarring affect, you might want to check the transmission filter.

*Leaking.
*Contamination.
*Can't Change Gears.
*Burning Smell or Smoke.

When the fluid level is low, it can lead to shifting problems.
As well, transmission fluid that has become oxidized (burnt) or dirty can also create shifting problems.
Next, if the transmission filter is clogged that can also lead to difficult, uneven shifts – but a fluid and filter change should correct this.

THE CRANKSHAFT SEAL
The crankshaft seal is the seal located on the front of the engine that seals the end of the crankshaft with the timing cover. Most crankshaft seals are made of rubber and metal and are round in shape.

What cause the seals in your engine to start leaking.
*Simple wear and tear can cause the inside of the shaft seal to wear so much that it will start to allow oil past through it.

Symptoms
Oil leaks are the most common symptom of a problem with the crankshaft seal. If the crankshaft seal dries out, cracks, or breaks, it can cause an oil leak. Small leaks can cause oil to accumulate on the undersides of the engine, while larger ones may produce a drip of oil from the front of the engine.

IGNITION COIL
An ignition coil (also called a spark coil) is an induction coil in an automobile's ignition system that transforms the battery's low voltage to the thousands of volts needed to create an electric spark in the spark plugs to ignite the fuel. The coil is the component that produces this high voltage.

Symptoms of a Bad or Failing Ignition Coil

Engine misfires,
Rough idle,
Loss of power.
One of the most common symptoms associated with a faulty ignition coil is engine performance issues.

Check Engine Light comes on. Another symptom of a potential issue with the vehicle's ignition coils is an illuminated Check Engine Light.

DRIVESHAFT

In simple words, Driveshaft transfers torque from a remotely mounted engine to drive the wheels.
The drive shaft is a spinning tube that connects to the rear of the transmission and transmits the spinning power that began in the engine to the back of the vehicle at the differential (more on that in a bit).

Signs of a bad driveshaft/drivetrain

Vibrations from under the vehicle. A common symptom of a failing driveshaft is an intense shaking coming from underneath the vehicle.

Difficulty turning.

Loud clunking noise.

Car shudders upon acceleration.

Squeaking noise.

Clicking or knocking noise.

BLUE SMOKE
Possible causes of blue exhaust smoke include: piston wear, worn valve seals, a dirty or non-functioning PCV valve, worn piston rings, an intake manifold gasket leak, worn engine oil seals and possibly even head gasket failure.
Oil leaking into the cylinders can cause a rough idle, misfire and fouled spark plugs
Blue/gray exhaust smoke means there's likely an oil leak and your engine is burning oil.
The leak could be caused by several issues like leaking valve seals, damaged piston rings, or worn cylinder walls. Pro-Tip: Blue smoke during acceleration means your vehicle's piston rings may be damaged.

CYLINDER HEAD

The cylinder head function is to allow air and fuel to flow inside the cylinder while permitting the exhaust gases to flow out of it.
The passages are otherwise called ports or tracts. The cylinder head also channels the coolant into the engine block, thereby cooling down the engine components.
Some cylinder head are made of Aluminium, iron or cast iron depending on the block engine.

There are several main symptoms of cylinder head problem are:
*High oil consumption
*Bad fuel mileage
*Engine overheating
*Misfiring (rough idle)
One of the most common cylinder head issues is cracks caused by overheating. These cracks often occur between the valves, but not always, and cracks also occurs on the cylinder head body itself.

P0770 TOYOTA - Shift Solenoid 'E' Malfunction

P0770 is an OBD-II generic code for a malfunction of shift solenoid E on the transmission valve body. This controls the supply of hydraulic pressure to the lock-up clutch of the torque converter that creates a one-to-one ratio for both input and output transmission speeds.
POSSIBLE CAUSES

*Low transmission fluid level
*Dirty transmission fluid
*Faulty shift solenoid 'E' valve
*Shift solenoid 'E' valve harness is open or shorted
*Shift solenoid 'E' valve circuit poor electrical connection
