CSTR2:

That is a backward policy. Many global top universities have satellite campuses in the gulf states.

I can understand restricting it to a certain level of university standard.

But banning it outrightly is crazy.

Before there were numerous satellite campuses but nigerian universities mishandled the whole system, the standard of those campuses were nothing compare to the parent university, both in terms of physical, human and material resources

National Universities Commission and Federal Ministry of Education does not approve satellite campuses, there is no single international university that has a campus here in Nigeria, if they does then it's illegal, even Ghana or Cotonou don't have a campus in Nigeria, we NUC don't allow that, this is a fake university except its a proposed university and before it take off it must have gotten approval from the FGN, Fed Min of Edu and NUC.

From a direct source, there is no such move by NUC.

Always verify University's status before enrolling your ward to avoid getting into the hands of scammers, visit NUC website for more information.

Thank you
AUN

AUN

American University of Nigeria formally known as Abti University yola is owned by a nigerian in person of Atiku Abubakar, he is the sole proprietor of the university, its a conventional university like any order university in Nigeria what differ it is the slight adoption not all American style, curriculum is NUC Benchmark Minimum Academic Standard (BMAS) with additional American syllabus, and it's in no way affiliated to any foreign university, though they have a president not a VC and she is white, so AUN is owned by a Nigerian. However, a Nigerian can partner with a foreign University to set up a full fledged university in Nigeria, but it must conform with the NUC BMAS and laws of the country. Example are Skyline University in Kano and Eastern Palm University in Imo.

Contrary to popular belief, it isn't owned by atiku. Atiku took advantage of its establishment by going into partnership with them. He owns the land on which it's been cited and he also a shareholder, but not the owner. Just like the case of MTN & Dozie

Hope this is duly approved by the NUC to avoid stories that touch.

Check your facts about the AUN ownership, the last time I checked Atiku still pump funds to that school, he even made mentioned it in one of his interview, I don't know where you got your story and for MTN its a franchise, Col. Sani Bello, the father to the current Niger state governor, Abubakar Bello owns 40% shares of MTN Nigeria and that's why he is the chairman. You can verify that too.

Atiku is the face of AUN just as Pascal Dozie is to MTN, as a result of their role as major individual shareholders and are very influential ones.
