90% of Abia state and Ebonyi communities trace there his story to Cross River and Rivers state. That is why you see many igbos share names with the ikwerre in Rivers and that of Cross River state. In the 17th century, there was nothing like igbo, all we had were ikwerre and those of Efik in cross River state. My problem is that the igbos fail to trace there history that is why they find it difficult to develop there lstates. |

Osagyefo98:Abia is about to become the most politically mature, diverse and sophisticated state.abia north is apc dominated, abia central dominated by apga and abia south by pdp.if not for araraume aligning with apc ,imo would have followed suit with orlu going for apc, okigwe apga and owerri pdp.we have a semblance of that in ondo |

| Re: Egbonna, Gololo, Osunsanya win Reps seats in Cross River, Bauchi and Ogun states by garfield1: 1:06pm On Jan 26, 2020 |
babyfaceafrica:Yes.cross river is not efik but their language is the most popular.more than half of the state speak it as a second language.my own villa also speak efik and sometimes igbo. But indigenously, efiks are not many.there can be found in bakassi alongside several other ethnicities.they are also in akpabuyo but the akwa ibomites there outnumber them.there also in calabar south and municipality and odukpani which they shares with other ethnicities also.out of the 3 million people in cross river, there are not up to 500,000.most of the people you think are efiks are actually from akwa ibom. The ekois should be more than the efiks but they dont have a common language and are not united.they are scattered |

garfield1:Your head the there. All you said is 100% correct. I'm Ekoi(Ejagham), many people do not even know that the Efiks are not many, all this people claiming efiks today are AkwaIbomites, especially in Calabar south lol, I wish the Ejagham were united tho and had a common dialect, the dialects are about 6. Ejaghams or Quas are located in Calabar Municipality, (they are the real owners of Calabar), Akampka, Ikom, Etung, and Ishibori in Ogoja. When you hear of Obong of Calabar, its only for the Efiks not for all the Calabar people, the main king is the Ndidem of the Quas(Ejagham). Paramount ruler of Calabar Municipality. |
