Good morning seniors, I am in the process of the canny journey but I have two queries. Please I will need suggestions on how to go about it. Firstly, I and hubby only have a wedding certificate from a religious institution , no court certificate, but we have a daughter already. Do we have to go for the court marriage now considering the fact that we have been married for three years now, and if we decide it do it now, will it not raise eyebrows. Secondly, my husband's evaluation certificate came with only his surname and first name, his second name was omitted . Do we have to sign an affidavit for that, though he is not the principal applicant Thank you all |

Please does anyone have a contact that can help at UNIABUJA? Someone is charging 70,000 to get transcript and this is more than one can afford. Will appreciate any help. |

eryosa0:So I'm a story teller so here's my ppr gist/story. Decision to travel I've always wanted to travel to canada right from when i was a kid ( plus am a bini girl, abroad is in our blood), anyway i would see canada flyers as a child and hide it, telling myself i would go someday. So you see in March 2018, the guy i was with for years travelled for his masters and he just left without even stating what was going to happen to us, only for months after he got there and he said he couldn't do long distance. 2018 was basically a tough year for me trying to move on. But that brought the strong urge to put my dreams to action, cause i felt if i relocated it could help me get back with my ex, anyway along the line in the pr journey i was like screw him! I'm going to do this for me. We still talk, I'm just trying to be mature about the whole remaining friends nonesense. Anyway so i began. I always wanted to travel through school, but not knowing were the funds would come from discouraged me and by 2018, my parents were planning on sending my brother for his masters in 2019 so who was i to even talk about my plans. But i kept on having faith and by december 2018, i told my mom of my plans and she agreed to sponsor me lowkey while my sister(who's also abroad) and my dad take care of my brother. My dad still doesn't know till now. Shhhhhhhhh. And so the journey started ECA Being a lawyer i opted for iqas preparing my mind for the 6 months timeline. I did my international passport in december, submitted my application with iqas and then waited for uniben to send my transcripts. Uniben sha fraustrated me and being in lagos and working, there was nothing i could do. My mom sha had to go to the school for me and they finally sent my transcript by April 2019. Uniben i hail una. And so the 6months wait with iqas began. Iqas thought me patience. IELTS While waiting for my eca, i began ielts. This one ehn really taught me faith. You see that 2 week waiting for results was what i hated the most, with the whole anxiety it brought. Reading was my major struggle, i would see people with 8 and 9 in reading and be asking how lol. I sha took the exam 3 times. Here's my ielts results. 1st exam 9th February- 8.0, 6.0, 6.5, 6.5 - LRWS 2nd exam, one date in march can't remember - 8.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5- LRWS i cried ehn, was on my way back from court with my head of dept when i checked. I asked him if i could go home and he refused, i sha was just crying in his car, he even accused me of blackmailing him with tears. Seriously! mtcheeeeew 3rd exam 27 April- 8.0, 8.0, 7.5, 8.0 -LRWS I sha aced it. Eca continues... Waited for iqas ehn. Report was finally ready by September 16th. Dived into the pool with a score of 475 and got ITA in the September 18th draw. Pcc This was scary for me but God rescued me. I went to the wrong office and had the wrong people do it for me even paid 7k. But on my way out i met an inspector who worked in the finger print dept and he really helped. Even later met the inspector moshood. That inspector that helped now later started asking me out lol like seriously. Uploaded only the pink page. That finger print page was wahala abeg. Employment. I've worked in 2 places for 3 yrs. In the first i was paid in cash. Got a reference letter, signed and with the NBA seal. For my current employment it wasn't easy as oga that was to sign was hardly around. Was sha able to get him to sign. I added my Nysc posting letter, Nysc Acceptance letter from my office, Discharge certificate and employment letter together with the reference letter. Passport. I used my phone o lol. Just stood on my office wall as it is painted white. Snapped, cropped it and sent. I was scared about this sha. Pof My mom came through for me. It was difficult as it was at that week my brother got his visa for masters and she had to get him ready to travel. But she came through anyway. 100% pof from my mom. I prepared the deed of gift and sworn affidavit as a lawyer [sub][/sub] Also attached the transfer receipt, bank 6 months statement ( highlighting the transfer, salary payment at my current work), i attached a bank letter, my birth certificate showing my mom's name there as my mother and also a loe explaining any thing that looked unclear.Medicals. Iom, had to beg for september 30th date Aor/post Aor Submitted 2nd October, paid rprf upfront. Med/Bil october 15th Bil done October 18, vfs lagos is a stroll from my office Raised 1st cse to include salary certificate of my 1st employer as i was paid in cash. @Ladymarshall i copied your format. Also submitted another reference letter from my current employer as the first had errors in it. Then the real wait began. Raised 2nd cse to know visa office and if anything has been passed. They sha didn't tell me my visa office, only that criminality is in progress mtcheeeeew. Like its visa office i was more interested in knowing. Called in december, got to know that medicals amd criminality was passed, nothing else started. By 26th of December, i got a job, deep down i knew it was not really what i wanted but i accepted it telling the employer of my application. When he sent me a message 2 wks ago that i was still employed, i cried ehn like which kin job be this sef lol ( when i really needed a job it didn't come, see now) it was soo confusing but i kept praying. Called ircc again last monday just to see how far plus if it could help me decide whether or not I'll still take the job, the person that answered was just annoying kept telling me to wait till the 6 months that eligibility and security was still in progress and everything looked good that i should be patient (mumu person) I sha concluded i wasnt going to take the job. On the 28th of January i woke up by past 1am, checked my profile and saw a ghost update mehn my heart start to beat. Fastfoward to the next night i couldn't sleep, sha woke up by past 2am and saw the ppr mail sitting in my email since 1:27 am ahhhh the joy ehn, it felt like all my burdens had been lifted and i could finally breathe. This process is not easy o Advise Pray hard, pray everyday. Don't be anxious it hard not to, but just try. Have faith and patience, it helped me.( everyday as i pass by vfs officeon my way to and fro from work i would always pray and remind God of my application) Also, don't lie in your application so you can sleep well at night. Snap your application before submitting so that on days you are not sure of something you can check to ease your mind. I didn't do that and i regretted it cause it made me worry all through like what if i made a mistake somehere. Also if you're in a group chat especially with those indian people, sha don't let them make you anxious or give you high bp. Ps. I prepared part of this in November by faith as i had a feeling that the excitement of ppr won't make me type a proper story. I hope you all enjoyed it. Can't wait to break the news to my dad Summary Aor: 2nd oct Mep/bil: 15th Oct Bil submitted: 18th oct Gu: 28th january Ppr: 29th jan dated 28th jan Visa office: ottawa Noc: 4112 ( lawyers and qubec notaries) Crs: 478 Signing off now, thanks everyone, this group kept me sane. |

For WES: You apply to your school to send your transcript to WES Canada. Give the the address and pay for it. You can pay for them to send it by NIPOST or by courier. For some schools, you apply online and for some, you must reach the school. Most schools know how to stamp and send the transcript. You don't have to send extra photocopies of the transcript to WES. They will not accept it. BUT, you need to send a copy of your certificate to WES. You can make a copy and send by courier or use hellofax. Search Nairaland for people who have used hellofax. Hope this helps NEROSKY: |

Where will you be getting married? And will you get married before you land? Phoenix1989: |
| Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Eraytee: 3:00pm On Jan 29, 2020 |
if you get married before you land in Canada, definitely you have to tell IRCC, but if you getting married in Canada after landing you don't have to tell them before then because your status would change automatically there in Canada as this will be documented by Canada govt. Phoenix1989: |

it doesn't affect you in any way, after marriage just inform IRCC, they might have to request proof of citizenship from your spouse. nothing would change except your status (Married). Phoenix1989: |
