Na lie. Somebody must have been stupid and careless to cause the fire. Fire don't just appear. It must have started from someone's store before going round and of course the person who caused it will keep quiet and lie out of fear of gbese.

Everytime people will be claiming somebody is behind the fires. The person ma spirit?
and all fires seem to be happening all about the same time in major southern cities? ive not heard a single fire in the north this year...even with the severity of harmattan, something is mot just right here.

All major markets SE already on fire recent time. Who own shops in markets in Nigeria mostly Igbos. They target Igbo economic interests. I finger Hausa-fulanis or enemies of Ndiigbo

People keep making same mistake all the time. The wealther is hot , people should be care the way they drop anything with fire.
Just two days ago as I was coming back from work place , saw a farmland burning and the fire has gone to the next build , if the occupant are not around that is how it will burn everything before they are back.

Our fire fighters are zero.

I was there live, fire fighters came right on time yet the fire spread to a second and a third building.

They couldn't spray the water past the ground floor while the real fire was above. I heard the fire got to the building behind too.

Shame. Nigeria is caused.

Too many faulty/fake electrical fittings in the market and with this harmattan, a small fire is capable of spreading fast. May God replenish the pockets of those affected.
Coupled with numerous generators that litter the market... all it takes is one faulty generator, then watch the fire spread.

Exactly. I had a near-fire-experience too. My saving grace was that I was at home, else...

Burning markets and properties in Lagos is a crude means of reallocating resources. It could be political power, as in lets cripple the economic power of these people or let's not allow these guys up north to over run us as they are now migrating from all over Africa.
Okay if we say some particular people are burning the markets, how come nobody has ever been able to spot or identify that person or people who start the fires? No be everything we go dey suspect others for ooo. Small carelessness with generators, fuel or wrongly connected wires can cause serious fire.

I have a feeling these market fires are being set up by some individuals or organizations with selfish interests.
Market fires are happening because people ignore health and safety concerns. Visit Balogun market or any markets, each shop owner puts generators in compromised places...... How will fire not happen?
