IgbereTV reports that special assistant to former Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, author and social media activist, Reno Omokri, took to his social media page to share his view on why Esau of the bible, sold his birthright for just a plate of lentil stew. Christians in Nigeria are familiar with the bible story of Esau, whom they severely criticise for selling his birthright for a mere bowl of stew.

But Reno discovered they were wrong, after he visited Ethiopia and ate red lentil stew. That was when he was able to understand why Esau sold his birthright for it. He described the stew as the most delicious meal on earth, next only to Itsekiri banga soup and Nigerian jollof rice.
