Umahi and crew, just get it done and stop the noise! Show working and give us results and y'all better be resolute not if one stupid miyetti cow coughs or one dirty minister passes comment you'll start shaking in your pants and back-tracking. Security is fundamental and nobody should play politics with it!

A joint security outfit for the South East region is being fine-tuned for optimal operation and would soon be unveiled.

The governors had July last year, inaugurated a joint security committee with control in Enugu and headed by Major Gen. Obi Umahi (Rtd). Other members include former Inspector General of Police Ogbonnaya Onovo, Capt. Awa Agwu (retd), Commissioner of Police Ikechukwu Aduba (Rtd) and Mr. Ray Nkemdirim.

Umahi told the GOC that “every region has their own peculiarities and we had formed our own joint security taskforce and we have written to federal government and we are putting things together because we had a joint meeting with all the service chiefs and the GOC. So, we discussed and agreed on what we need to do to continue to give safety to our people in south east.

This is exactly how things are done. There must be planning and consultation. Every stakeholder must be carried along. You don't put the cart before the horse. I am a Yoruba man and I subscribe to the idea of having regional security outfit to protect the region, but for me, what the south west governors did was a kangaroo arrangement. There must be proper planning like the south east governors are doing.

You are a Fulani slave.
When street vigilantes are set up, no one invites thieves and armed robbers.

What plans exactly are the SE governors doing?
You don't know. How much have they budgeted?
You don't know. Yet, you like what they are doing.

The Amotekun move essentially shows that SW governors are miles ahead of their SE counterpart
who have planned a whole year with nothing to show for it.
They now have a mouth to talk because Amotekun has shown them the way.

If you don't like it.
You are free to organize your Fulani bedfellows and protest.

South-west governors to donate 100 patrol vehicles to regional security outfit
October 08, 2019

Governors of states in the south-west will donate 100 patrol vehicles to a proposed joint security outfit for the region.

In a statement issued on Monday, Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun state, said each of the six states in the region will donate 20 vehicles, communication gadgets and personnel for the security outfit named Amotekun.

In July, the governors of Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, Lagos and Oyo set up the joint task force to contain the security threats in the region.

In August, the office of the national security adviser (NSA) granted approval for the outfit.

Report: South-west governors finalise plans to float regional security outfit
August 26, 2019

Governors from the south-west states have obtained an approval from the office of the national security adviser (NSA) to set up a regional security outfit.

According to The Nation, the approval will birth a joint task force code-named Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) to tackle insecurity in the region.

The six governors met twice in June at Ibadan, Oyo state capital, and July at Akure, Ondo state capital, under the coordination of the Development Agenda of Western Nigeria (DAWN), to draw up new strategies to curb the rising insecurity.

Rotimi Akeredolu, chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, had told journalists after the meeting in Ibadan that the security architecture of the region would change from August.

In preparation for the inauguration of the security outfit by October, the governors have reportedly purchased patrol vans to be used by each state.

The security outfit, which is reported to comprise local hunters and members of the O’odua Peoples Congress (OPC), has a team that will coordinate intelligence gathering.

The operatives are to monitor neighborhood activities and also comb forests in the region.

Members of the team are also expected to work with traditional rulers and other security outfits in order to ensure they work within the ambit of the law for effective operations.

Speaking earlier in the month, Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun state, had said the joint security team would patrol major roads and provide adequate security for residents of the region.

There has been a growing clamour for state police following the high rate of insecurity in the region and other parts of the country.

Among the high cases of insecurity in the region this year are the murder of Funke Olakurin, daughter of Reuben Fasoranti, Afenifere leader, in Ondo; abduction of Yinka Adegbehingbe, a professor at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in Osun and kidnap of five ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

The governors met with President Muhammadu Buhari in June after a presidential panel on human rights abuses by special anti-robbery squad (SARS) recommended the establishment of state and local government police, but the governors did not reach an agreement on the matter.

Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun and Lagos are the states in the south-west region.

Staro:

The Middle Belt region needs this more.

Unfortunately, the region is filled with foolish governors whose only
preoccupation is to lick Buhari's anus.

Few days ago, the bastard in Plateau state whose state has lost tens of thousands of innocent
citizens was heard insisting that his state has confidence in the Nigerian police to
curb insecurity. Is that not foolishness. No balls!

North Central has the worst set of
governors in this dispensation (except Ortom of Benue)

Seriously, I thought they would be the first region to set up this security outfit for the protection of their people but no, their leaders would rather continue to lick Pres. Buhari ass and pretend as if the already compromised national security can protect them.Their leaders are cowards and heartless people.
They have lost more lives than any other region in the country but I am surprise that these other regions which have lost few people are the ones taking the security of their region more seriously; giving the Fulanis' and their marauding blood suckers a terrible nightmare.

Middle Beltans, you people should continue to tolerate the killings going on around you and keep hoping that Mr president will arrest and persecute these criminals (who are his kinsmen) and restore peace back to your region. You guys should continue to look on while these Pigs continue to rape, maim and murder your people like cockroaches.

You essentially buttress my point.
Anybody can hope to do something but doing is the main deal.
Umahi couldn't even name the outfit but he wants us to believe that
they have had a solid plan for almost a year and some readers believe him.

Amotekun actually gave them a boost.
That explains why they have been watching from the sidelines to see how it goes.
