that statue was not for a farm but for a market. A thief always comes to steal from the traders every market day with a moving palm tree so the traders consulted a statue maker to make a sticky image in other to catch the culprit, which of course was tortoise. He got stuck when he slapped the image

No thief would be stupid enough to engage a statue. The tortoise actually thought it was living.
