Every consideration must be directed towards the safety of the people.

To ease access to transport in this area and at the same time curb insecurity

Keke napep can yet be allowed to operate but managed by the union and the cda to ensure security

Okada should be banned due to their proclivity to crimes by external criminals

Is the north, lagos? It is banned in the north to curb the activities of terrorists to an extent. Which traffic wan hold u for north wey be like lagos own? It is only in lagos traffic, you that you are in an ac fitted car gets jealous of someone on okada.
majority of you don't know the implications of having illegal immigrants everywhere including boko haram elements in thousands in Lagos disguising as okada men., plateau state for instance banned it during Jos crisis and that was the end of the crisis because these fighters and trouble makers relocated to southwest.

the moment okada was banned in those states, they started throwing their okada into the next available trailer heading to Lagos, that is what is responsible for the high number of Chadians , Nigeriens , Senegalese and Malians you see in Lagos today, a LGA office was burnt down few weeks ago including all the sewing machines the government is using for skill empowerment programmes, that is boko haram loading.
they even burgled all the offices and stole all valuables in the broad day light .
this is a matter of security of life and properties

Tomorrow when they start robbing with bicycles, the government will ban it

When they rob with corollas, the government will ban it

i just pray that u get a way out from nigeria and tell yoirself where okoda is use as a mean of transportation,it is easier for robbers to rob and escape easily with okoda, this is not a total ban but restricted in some area,if u are a victim of okoda robbers u wont open eyes to type this rubbish

Keke can be used for internal transport, Danfo for feeder roads to the expressway and only LASG busses on the express way in the bus lane. Okada should be banned completely. Keke and Danfo should be highly regulated with licenses and extensive background checks. Must be a Nigerian citizen and reside in Lagos. Also, use of cars in Lagos should be made expensive to deter the amount of road users and promote more use of public transport.

Those coming in to the state should be tolled to the highest and carry the toll papers around to be renewed every week. So that people don’t go and register their cars out of state to get around that rule. Congestion in Lagos is too much. In a metropolitan city only those who can afford the high cost of owning a car should own it.

Re: Okada Ban: Ajao Estate Residents Protest Exclusion by INDUSTRIALFAN(m): 8:38pm On Jan 30, 2020
Recipe to increasing armed robbery and theft in Lagos state.... People have been using danfo and corrola for robberies and a lot of accidents involve cars and why haven't they banned those? They think they re solving problems? They are only making matters worse.

If they ban okada and keke napep in ajao estate and other place in Lagos
They will be more unemployment aboki, amaka and afonja in Lagos state.
They should all go back to thier village.
We have enough problems in Lagos already.
Re: Okada Ban: Ajao Estate Residents Protest Exclusion by Farki: 8:41pm On Jan 30, 2020
So they are still robbing that place? sad It's really a shadow of it's former self, all the houses have been overtaken by hotels and the roads have been ruined, glad I moved out.

Your aboki brothers can go back to where they came from. Okada was banned in the city of Kano and heaven did not fall. Motorbikes are not made for commercial transportation. I blame the LASG for allowing it in the first place. Now, everyone sees abnormal as normal. What a big shame!

Okada, keke are big nuisance on Lagos roads.

Those keke riders are worse and move like demons. The other day, one was stopped at rail crossing when a train was approaching. The rider briskly turned the head of his tricycle to jump into his death and many others on board.

I learnt that virtually all of them take alcoholic drink before setting out on their rough ride.

People should watch out as they graduate to another level of what they call 'korope'- those Suzuki mini buses are high breed of keke and danfo.

Their only advantage is fast movement as against deludes of disadvantages.

It is also noteworthy that most of the bike riders are hausas from Northern neighboring countries.

Apart from safety issue, they constitute so huge security burden to all well meaning and right-thinking residents of the state.
so you live at toyin around that plane crash site
Re: Okada Ban: Ajao Estate Residents Protest Exclusion by seanchuks: 8:57pm On Jan 30, 2020
I really support this movement with passion ...if you know wat this foolish keke rider behaves there eh you will pity those living in ajao estate
Common from here to here them go begin tell you #100 .. something that use to be #50 journey before....infact they don't have any ride for #50 again...poor masses like us treck virtually all the time on that road...

Your last paragraph is so apt. Trailer loads of Okadas and their riders arrive Lagos every other day from all over neighbouring countries. That was how Boko haram started. No responsible Government will close his eyes and allow terrorists to invade his territory !

Ok fine then what’s the alternative? That’s if Ure not being entirely selfish.
Let each area regulate its own Okada or Keke, let them register with the resident association

Last night at oniru , I saw about 3 trailers load of Keke and bikes about to move back to the north ,

It's a terrible situation ,

Anyone that spoilt his or her mat , should sleep on the floor
That is the whole idea. They should go back to where they came from asap!

My fear is that almost all transporters drive recklessly, so even if they start using mini buses they will still scratch peoples car. Okada men graduated to keke riders and now about to graduate to taxi drivers. Same spirit.
Hahahaha just like Nigerian politicians changing party but the same looters and failures like their President Buhari the chief failure of Nigeria grin

Re: Okada Ban: Ajao Estate Residents Protest Exclusion by Nobody: 9:28pm On Jan 30, 2020
I hate Okadas. They should ban it all over Nigeria let people walk it's great for losing weight. In Ghana people walk from house to taxi ranks not a big deal. My estate back then was almost 2 kilometres long to the taxi rank no okada or keke I walked and I loved it. Ban Okada all over Nigeria they are a nuisance, let's find other means to engage them.
And lastly they are a security threat. God Forbid a religious crisis should start in Lagos they will be the first to start slitting your throats.

I think the ban on okadas and kekes is probably the first phase of a grand plan to discourage and push back on the influx of aggressive and illiterate Northerners and foreigners into Lagos.
Re: Okada Ban: Ajao Estate Residents Protest Exclusion by MrNipplesLover(m): 9:39pm On Jan 30, 2020
make dem ban all. of them.

worst case is that people go dey complain about trekking, cos traffic no go let buses or cabs move faster.

When the number of criminals/robbers keeps soaring everyday, when citizens enjoy being criminals, there is little the police could do.

They know what they want and they are asking for it. This is not one man's wish but an entire community comprising people with diverse backgrounds. Respect their wish. When the disadvantages of something overwhelmed its advantages, it's better to discard such thing
