My problem is on the Mainland.

On the Island, bloody cruise in your car, traffic isn't that annoyingly much.

But Mainland? How I want take do am? Traffic once held me between Marine Bridge and Boundary Market in Ajegunle for close to 2 hrs. Since then, if I have any reason to go there, na bike matter be dat o. Though I doubt if that area is affected by the ban.

E affect Apapa local government sef

Even businesses would feel the heat...

Someone said they should learn skill like painting, farming, cobbler,

Whose house would you paint, is it the man that has no money to put 3 square meals on his table

Industrialization should be the major concern of the Nigerian government and governors alike

When there are industries, people are employed, wealth is created and therefore is distributed

The guy riding a bike, if he got a bank job, would he be driving okada at all

Nigerian govt always putting the cart before the horse

We simply adjust our livestyle in view of the reality on ground.
Stupid talk,so we'll sweat and start looking like fools

Okada and Keke has made a lot of us lazy and lacking in any physical activities. I remember one small girl telling the parents that she doesn’t want to go to UK for vacation simply because of, according to her, “one will trek and trek and trek...”

People have simply forgotten the health benefits of regular exercise and trekking is one.

So let’s hit the roads.

I am sure most of you saying trek don't stay in Lagos cus if you do, you will know that without these means, most people would have been out of jobs and what not.

Shay you Wan trekk from Ikeja to Lekki in 45min?

Most of us who are entrepreneurs will find it double tough especially those in the home / office service business.

This is what your new text messages will now look like say you get 7am meeting for Victoria Island and you dey live for Mowe and must have left you house at 5:30am....
7:30am: "I am so sorry I am not there yet. We just got on 3rd mainland due to terrible traffic.

9:15am:"kindly be patient sir. We are very close to Osbourne estate traffic light.

And at 12:25pm: Please sir, I just got to the gate/reception.

All this hustle then you are told OGA NO DEY.

CHAIIIIII!!!

then you start the reverse journey.... Lagosians, you know the rest.

Then after experiencing this like 5 times, your customers must have lost all the trust they had in you

Pls no body should say plan your time because there is no planning in this State...

As usual, God will help Us

I know you are in full support of the ban. Congratulations, also be ready to be in full support when your source of livelihood is taken away from you, be it paid, hand work or business. We will all rejoice with you because it will definitely happen. Remember, You can't attract what you attack

chijokz:

I'm in full support of this ban for obvious reasons.
1. Curb the menace of criminals operating on Okada.
2. Reduce the incessant road accidents caused by Okada.
3. Security
4. Mega city modernization.

The BRT bus dropped me at stadium na em I come start to dey trekk tell myself say I go see keke o, na I go see keke I dey talk till I reach Spar for Adeniran Ogunsanya mall. I first carry water from their fridge drink. I was so exhausted! Funny thing be say small traffic come dey sef even with the whole ban.
Why would you ban something without an alternative? All those people saying "yen, yen, yen, Nigerians are lazy and don't like trekking" will know what's up on Monday. There's a difference between exercising and mad's people walk. Na mad people waka I do today.

Coolcalmcollect:

1) how about equipping police and training dem better.
2) okada isn't the only road machine causing accident, how about banning dangote trucks Also.
3) you bLame the police for lack of security not the citizens.
4) Lagos is far for mega city modernization....we are still a fucking 4rd world country....broke ass, low developed state. there's nowhere in Lagos you can drive 100mph continuously for 20mins nonstop.
I agree with you.

So we should spend about 15k at the cheapest hotel in VI just for a job you are maybe going to see for the first time and not sure if you will get or for a maintenance you are about to carryout that may only fetch you about 10k or in some cases, a big thank you.

Mind you, this is your daily routine.

It's going to be tough for everyone. My heart beats faster when I think of how I will coordinate Ogba, the old Secretariat, Ikeja and later Lagos Island, on Monday! I feel the stress already. But one thing I believe is that the blanket ban is most probably due to insecurity, i.e., the unchecked influx of unknown/unregistered foreigners into the trade. The residents of VI, for example, must have felt surrounded! The arsonists that looted/burnt down the Ajeromi LCDA were really atrocious. They weilded so much power, what effrontery; what gave them the guts.....?
A partial ban would have caused ad uproar,.......
Let's wait and see how it pans out in the coming days.
