Infact, on Friday, while going to jakande/gate, a road which is usually locked down till 1am on Fridays was free like mad by 9pm.

The worst part is that I waited for bike for almost 30 mins b4 deciding to take keke only to discover the road was free.

The truth is that Lagos cannot be said to be developed with such nuisance, shanties, slums etc.. Though it will hurt but with time, everything will normalize.

At least they didn't ban private bike, so u can save up to get one.

The ban was only on commercial bike.

Only a fool will turn okada riding to a permanent job.

A reason person will use okada or keke riding as a means to an end and not a lifetime gig.

Oga, what are u even saying? It's like you're used to a hard life. If i want to excercise, i can register at a gym, jog, or take walks, at my own convenience, not trek to work.

Are there no other means of transport in Lagos again?

The way they were on the road yesterday as if doing a last minute hustling. Surprised to see the road cleaned today. Good moves. Other states should emulate

I trekked from Adeshina Ike Ira (Ogba axis) to Berger going to work. It was a good experience though, and I think it's a good development to ease the state of nuisance and rowdiness and congestion. It will make Lagos look more as other developed climes. I feel for those affected whose source of livelihood depends on the banned autos, and I pray God see them through and make better provisions for them for survival. We will get adopted to it within a short time.

so according to you the best way to make use of your university education is by painting, welding, carpentry etc, undecided thats the life you want for every graduate abi?
after spending five or four years in service they should now go back to being an apprentice of welding, barbing, painting. as much as i dont see this works as bad for a graduate ill say most parent are part of the problem since they dont get their children engage in one hand work or the other at the earlier stage.
but on your part youre just sitting at one corner of your spitting trash, the greedy/selfish heart of men is just too obvious, im very sure you cant finish your degree and start afresh learning handwork for maybe another three years. gerrout
You got me wrong, have you heard about welding technology, industrial plumbing is a course in some colleges of engineering in Europe, painting has gone beyond house painting. What the man said was, what warrants a graduate to turn to Okada rider instead of thinking outside the box to put his knowledge to a more better use.
Be aware most rich persons in America and Europe are those who run skill related businesses.

You guys are simply lazy. I visited Lagos last August and stayed in a hotel around Agungi in Lekki. I normally went to Megachicken by the 2nd toll gate to eat. I usually trekked back and forth. And that was like 5km in total. By the time I returned to my base, I already lost some weight. I loved it, and the breeze was cool too. Only problem was there was no good walkway.

Smh, tell this to someone who lives in Ikate and works at Eko Hotel axis. Keke is the fastest means of commute for such an individual, use the expressway you get stuck in traffic plus the whole sweat experience in a public bus.
You need to put yourself in other people's shoes, before you pass judgement on them

I just pity those guys who just got new keke.

Imagine ordinary Ajah to Abraham Adesanya 100 naira and the bus conductor was shouting: come down and enter keke o. Everywhere, fares increased and despite the ban traffic worsened, crowd trippled at bus stops, those danfo are rejoicing not knowing they are coming for them soon with private bus companies with uniformed drivers.

They still allow keke in Akoka, there is just no way bus will cater for the population of students in that area.

Why do I think there will be some sort of community clashes between keke and danfo drivers, they have in a way always had this kind of dislike/unhealthy competition
Re: How Has The Ban On Keke And Okada In Lagos Affected You? by qtx(m): 10:09pm On Feb 01, 2020
Not so easy, however, if you drive in Lagos, you won't mind whatever consequences emanate from the ban.
Those guys(both Okada and keke) are a nuisance. Someone will just dive into your front and expect you to match breaks in a flash and apologize to him.

Most times they brush your ride and still come and harass you. flying at the center of the express trying to compete with cars yet carrying passengers.
Most times cause an accident and escape while people are dying in the process.
They rob people early in the morning and evenings using guns and knives.

Their crimes are too much.

What I observed today is that there are now buses parked at some of the former Keke bustops. While passing through Obalende I saw mini buses by the roundabout and the Cemetery for instance. There used to be a lot of kekes and bikes there. None today. I hope the buses are there as replacements for the kekes to make movement easier for workers from Monday. I pray that the situation is not unbearable next week.

Meanwhile offices need to consider having a number of staff buses to reduce the stress on workers.

It seems the cabs (kabukabu) and some minibuses are taking the place of keke. I passed through the route today. Unfortunately I didn’t stop to confirm details. Go to your usual bustop on Monday. You’re likely to find a means of transport there. The cabs are under the bridge towards Ikoyi.
