u dey mind people with their thinking, taiwan india and other countries have been using the mode of transportation for ages and people are using it to survive, somebody will just receive AC sense go just leave it brain and the next thing is to make things more difficult, what bout those who bought keke n bike n gave it out what about those who only survive on transport now dey will have to relocate inside street an make change.

crime starts from little things
I just dey pity some yeye people wey dey happy, saying the rate of crime will reduce, where there's nothing to do, it's then d crime will now increase

We survived in PH when okadas were banned in 2012, even though keke in some areas dey cause nuisance. Eg rumuagholu.
You will survive in Lagos without them!
Please if you don't live in Lagos don't comment on this matter. Have you been to Apapa and Tin Can? The area is completely unmotorable yet government banned bikes there as well. That one is the most laughable

Sonwolu will be in history as one of the greatest governor Lagos ever had if this policy is fully adhered to. The next thing inline is to fix the road, provide good water and road transportation and complete the light rail system.
You're contradicting yourself. How can the bolded be next in line instead of first in line? Why is the government putting the cart before the house? Aren't they supposed to provide these amenities that will render bikes and keke as a mode of transport obsolete? Shouldn't all these have been put in place before proscribing the major means of transport for Lagosians? What are we supposed to do while we wait for them to get their shit_ together? Fly?

When you disclose your tribe we should find out if you made similar comment when Anambra or Imo banned Okada then determine if tribe as got anything to do with it or you are just being a bigoted fool.

Right thinking...and I promise you Lagos generally will actually look like a megacity BUT

Most of those rider will automatically become jobless with there bike or tricycle...this will cause many to Port back to there state of origin and either blend, make sense there or become a menace to the society

Why is it that our government mostly act without considering the goals and the effects both positive and negative on all citizens in general

Government could investigate, probe and improvise on the daily tickets these riders pay there union on a daily basis and work it together for months as a source of retirement plan for each registered Rider and off course additional toking from the government then the heartbreak and sudden termination of Hussle for the riders would be averted BUT

Corruption no go allow it happen.... abi how OLUOMO wives wan dey launch new mansions while NLC is threatening another strike cool

This is a smart government. But a little too insensitive.
Lagos state government among other things is simply trying to 'free up the market' for the transport services provided by them and their cronies. Imagine how much the government is going to make in IGR with all former okada customers now patronizing government or their cronies' transport services!

Plus Lagos is going to look neater without okada and keke, a more suitable capital for Oodua nation (in case the Filanus take their madness to the next next level).

Though i'm not in support of the government taking away the source of survival from the bikes and keke drivers without first offering them an alternative, but i think this is a good development.
Too much tricycle and bikes runing around in a city constitute trash and pollution which further encourages insects, pests, mice, rats, pigeons, and flies all thriving Off of decomposing garbage.

I really like an organized city but I don't think this is the right time. Many people will suffer. Why can't Lagos govt speed up work on the light rail, improve water transportation and later ban Okada/Keke. Those two projects will create employment for people that will lose their job cos of Okada ban. A serious Govt can finish that light rail project in 1yr. A light rail that cut across everywhere in the state and standard water transportation will automatically fix Lagos traffic.

Time to enjoy your ride. See sanity everywhere. Bike with keke makes you slam brakes anyhow, they dont understsnd road signs,. They should all be banned in nigeria

I still don't understand how I will feel comfy as a Governor after removing the source of livelihood from a set of people.

Agbero that should be banned first are still thriving.

I will eager provide an alternative first.

Governance is all about Empathy before anything else.

Was this the only way they could fight the traffic problem in Lagos? Because so far, all I've seen is that it reduces decongestion on the road, although no one is talking about that. I Don't know why people keep saying it beautifies the city, it doesn't. Lagos roads still looks ugly but less congested.

So what will become of those keke riders?
The should go back to their states and countries, let their governors see the okada and Keke is not working again in Lagos, let them help fight what is pursuing them , not to vote during elections and run back to Lagos
