[quote author=joseph6071 post=86314644]The ban of tricycle and bikes in Lagos State has left so many pedestrians who depended so much on it as a means of transportation angry.

The ban which started on the 1st of February made both the riders and pedestrians to protest on the street of Lagos.

But one sight that caught the attention of many was the CMS busstop which is usually filled up with tricycles looked so empty as at now.

Good development but hope it's not a ticking time bomb to live the Keke riders unemployed. An hungry man can be very desprate.

Are this not already being put in place
Ishilove:

You're contradicting yourself. How can the bolded be next in line instead of first in line? Why is the government putting the cart before the house? Aren't they supposed to provide these amenities that will render bikes and keke as a mode of transport obsolete? Shouldn't all these have been put in place before proscribing the major means of transport for Lagosians? What are we supposed to do while we wait for them to get their shit_ together? Fly?

When NURTW was suspended in Oyo state then, after a month or so, stealing became the order of the day, one can hardly move out early in some part of Ibadan due to this menace. In fact a friend of mine was attacked and robbed while going to his place of work very early in the morning. Now that these people have been stopped, how are they to feed themselves and their family? The truth is that when things begin to backfire, those at the top will not even know but the people down there will soon know that 'Khaki no be Leather'.

Still the same ONE road?
You and mini bus will relax inside traffic under hot sun for 4hrs

The ban is mostly for security reasons , most of these riders are not even from Nigeria , u need to live in lagos to see what am saying , Lagos was almost caged

Don`t get it twisted. What you see is a picture of a place where thousands of people exist without a source of livelihood.

Crime rate in Lagos is about to soar like an eagle. When you take a man's legitimate source of livelihood because it doesn't "affect" you, Las Las na your house dem go come rob, na your children dem go kidnap, na your people dem go take do ritual. Naija lawmakers are sorely misguided.. Honestly.

Though i'm not in support of the government taking away the source of survival from the bikes and keke drivers without first offering them an alternative, but i think this is a good development.
Too much tricycle and bikes runing around in a city constitute trash and pollution which further encourages insects, pests, mice, rats, pigeons, and flies all thriving Off of decomposing garbage.
Trash Clogs Drains. ...
Trash Pollutes Natural Resources.
Trash Turns Away Tourists.
Trash Lowers Property Value. ...
Trash Is a Safety Hazard. And not to talk about how those bandits from some parts of the nation are secretly executing their hidden evil plans in the south by killing, kidnapping, stealing etc all in the guise of a keke or a bike rider. Kudos to the Lagos government for this initiative.
Only idiots will not see your systematic ploy to deceive Nigerians into believing you mean well...

So what will become of those keke riders?
They'll look for alternative source of income, if not they would die of hunger.

Good!

All those begging and wailing saying this will render people jobless and increase crime rate, please how has the presence of okadas and keke help reduce crime rate and help in economic growth...they create an eye sore, confusion and disorganised environment making it easy for criminals to hide around...

You people arent shameless at all, enemies of sanity....you like a beautiful and saner society but not ready to sacrifice..lazy blacks...dirty scattered people
I don't stay in Lagos but I visit from time to time and honestly I don't support this ban. The disadvantages far outweigh the advantages.

if it is a good development, support it. Though Okada/tricycle business is a popular view, but unfortunately it is against development, it portends greater security danger in near future. We used to walk long distances before advent of Okada, we will go back to walk again which is even more healthy
You are a true patriot, God Bless You.
