The loot is connected to Sani Abacha. One story from premium times reveals his son's name was on one the accounts. He wasn't charged to court because he had his dictatorial immunity. U.S. Forfeits Over $480 Million Stolen by Former Nigerian Dictator in Largest Forfeiture Ever Obtained Through a Kleptocracy Action
