In a bid to commemorate breast cancer awareness day, popular retail chain store ShopRite in collaboration with Run For a Cure Africa organised a free breast examination screening for women across Nigeria.

The Big Pink Fight screenings which took place between 3-8 February 2020 gave women free access to clinical breast exams, ultrasound scans and mammograms across different screening stations.

Four of the major screening stations were situated in Shoprite stores -Asaba Mall in Delta state, Onitsha Mall in Anambra state, Novare Gateway Mall in FCT Abuja and Ado Bayero Mall in Kano state.

Shoprite’s partnership with RFCA dates back to 2014, when the partners joined hands to
raise awareness of breast cancer through the roll-out of free screenings.

Some 5,000 women have since benefited from these screenings taking place annually.

ShopRite has been my number one retail outlet, ever since I bought from them in December lowest price deals, I wish other brands can emulate them.

I was present at the shoprite asaba mall in Delta state and it was a wonderful experience. Nice one from the brand

They say cancer is a sickness of the rich, but apparently breasts cancer doesn't care about your wealth, awareness of this disease is very much necessary, atimes I just wish there was a cure to it.

I hope many women take advantage of this opportunity

Nice info at op. It's is even better as it is being run in malls like in other state because all these hospital especially LUTH are just too lacklustre when it comes to healthcare. This is a very commendable move from RFCA and shoprite.

All this breast cancer hype..... how long have they been searching for the cure?.... what progress have they made? ... ever so often a celebrity hits the spotlight "I am a survivor!... cancer in remission!... three years later they are fighting death... and these people have access to the best doctors. Have they ever once gave information on breast cancer prevention?...isn't prevention better than cure? It is always... always.... come check let us see if you have it..... then let us medicate you for life. Fight for the cure is a scam. Let us close our eyes and allow Shoprite to lead us... they are sooo wonderful... and caring.... after all... they are the ones selling soo much stuff that would give us cancer in the first place.
