We need to understand the two words "Information" and "Marketing". Information in other words could mean knowledge, Data, Advice, Statistics, etc, while marketing is a process of promoting and selling products or services to the final consumer. Now in simple English, Information Marketing can be defined as the creating, promoting and selling of digital products which help to solve a problem within a specific niche or topic. A niche is a specialized segment of the market for a particular kind of product or service. Examples of A Niche; Specialty Food Stuffs, High quality coffee, Toys individually tailored for children, Wedding Niche, Body Building Niche, Health Niche, Finance Niche, Political Niche, etc...

Look at it this way, you have to create information in form of a digital product that can solve a problem in a particular niche, promote and sell it.

What are digital products?

Digital products are products that take a digital form, it is not like a physical product but e-products, products you can only access through electronic means. Examples are e-books, video training courses, software, live coaching programs, Audio interviews, Mobile Apps & Games, etc...

But there are some challenges (Cons of Infoprenuer business) which must be avoided or else you sink as you are starting. I will highlight them, if you don't mind, so that those who wish to be guided by this wonderful thread you created are not left at the middle of the river.

Domain Name:
Just like Op talked about branding in creating a Logo, you need to understand that your branding and info marketing success starts with your domain name. I could write a 20 page book on selecting the right domain name and yet all won't be said.
Your domain name should be simple and very easy to remember. Should be easily written without mistake when pronunced over the phone. It shouldn't include hyphens or numbers. Should be preferably one-word ( but most of that are already taken) and a maximum of three-words.
[i]Registration: [/i]When you are done with selecting a name, select a reputable REGISTRAR and register your name. You will know the relevance of a reputable registrar, when it is time for the renewal of your domain name. Some of the aged domains that drop and become available, we discussed earlier, are due to failure of the Registrant's credit card and inability to add a new one before expiration of Grace deletion period.

If you are using WordPress theme for your blog or site design, then you can skip this. Otherwise you need to ensure that your site is responsive across various platforms like web, phone, tablet and more.

Hosting:
This could make or mar all of your efforts.
You have registered a super domain name with existing traffic, you have built a responsive website. You have added contents including affiliate Products and paid for hosting, so you are waiting for the income to start flooding in but days are gone by and NO SALES! What is wrong
