I learnt that there are some traditional rites in Nigeria when you are giving birth to your first child or any child. What are some of those traditional rites in your ethnic group

Igbo

When a child is born, the baby's umbellical cord is wrapped around a seed and planted in the ground. Using the nutrients from the cord, the seed will grow into the child's Tree of Life. They will visit this tree through out their life and watch it's progress and it's a way for the child to know where they're from and remember to return. The child's Offor is also made from this tree though I believe Offor is also made from feel falling ogrishi branches.
