Good morning Nairalanders.

I'd be glad if you treat my issue with great empathy and pity and perhaps proffer a solution if you've been in my shoes before.

After some couple of years of failed efforts in getting an admission, I finally got one in a federal university in the south west year 2017 but the problem remains that I was yet to be given the admission on the jamb portal.

Being ignorant of the implications of accepting such offer and hoping that the issue would be resolved soon, I gladly got ahead with other Registration processes and of course the lectures.

Currently, I'm in my third year studying computer science and I am beginning to get worried cause, logging in on the jamb portal almost every week there has been no changes still. I implore you to kindly proffer a solution to my present predicament and I'd be so glad you do cos right now I'm so perplexed after learning of the implications.

Thanks a lot
Do not be too bothered bro. It happens alot esp with those that do change of course. My younger bro recently finished from BUK but didn't find his name on mobilization list. meaning jamb didn't recognise his change of course. He went to jamb office and got it fixed.

Just go to jamb office and explain yourself. If you know a BIG MAN there its better to contact him/her first coz you know our wahala in this country.

Everything will be alright.

You have nothing to be scared about. All you need is Jamb regularization. If you did jamb the same year you gained admission, you will pay N5,300 and if you haven't done Jamb or you have done and your effort to secure admission that same year was abortive, you will pay N10,300 only.

Jamb regularization requirements.
1) Jamb slip (For those that have written Jamb)
2) O'level result
3) Name of your institute registrar
4) Name of your institute rector, phone number and email address (You can use your institute phone number and email too).

Then locate the nearest jamb Office for your regularization.

My brother, I was in this situation in 2010 when I was about to graduate from FUTA. While other students were going to Abuja or pay someone to do it on their behalf, I did nothing. I met the VC's secretary and she told me not to bother myself that the university will be the one to send the list of graduating students to jamb for NYSC call up later. However, I don't know if this is applicable to your school, go to your student affairs for guidance

During my undergraduate days, I got admission through prescience to nnamdi azikiwe University and one striking difference between myself and my course mates is that I didn't get any admission letter from jamb...
I went to my school portal and I paid 10k (5k) twice, promising to work on it but they never did...
it occured to me during my clearance in final and I went to jamb office and yet, no admission letter...
it didn't stop me from my clearance and going for my NYSC... I also have my certificate...
your case might be slightly different from mine but then, I'll advise you to go to your school administrative block and forward your complaint to the right portal... also go to the jamb office and forward your complaint...
I wish you best of luck...

You don't have any problem, just make sure you do Jamb regularization before you graduate or else it would be difficult for you after graduation.

We have done paid and done Jamb regularizations since our first year in school yet they are just collecting our money while refused to allow us to serve our father's land....

God will judge u people

Students of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) have appealed to the Federal Government to allow them to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and also admit Law graduates of the university into the Nigerian Law Schools.
The undergraduates, in a statement signed and issued by the coordinator of NOUN NYSC/LAW Saga, Segun Oyewale threatened that they would embark on mass protest should their demands be ignored.
Oyewale, a former Public Relations Officer of NOUN Students Forum, asked the Federal Government to implement NOUN Act that allows for the graduates of the institution to participate in NYSC and Law School.
He said it was an act of injustice that graduates of NOUN could not have the same rights, benefits and privileges like their mates in conventional federal owned universities.
According to him, “Statistically, we (NOUN students) are the ones paying highest amount of money as Federal University compared to other Federal Universities in the country; any thing about National Open University is always delayed unlike our mates from other universities.
“It is no more a news that the bill that allows National Open University Graduates to participate in NYSC Scheme/Law School has been signed by President Muhammadu Buhari since December 04 2018. However, nothing has been done so far to implement it.
“The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is a Federal Open and Distance Learning institution accredited by NUC. The first of its kind in the West African sub-region. It is Nigeria’s largest tertiary institution in terms of student population.
“We pay heavily to afford National Open University terms and conditions as directed by NUC but we are denied of certain things enjoyed by graduates of other tertiary institutions.
“I have seen a Nigerian graduate from National Open University of Benin serving in Nigeria, even with international treatment. I have also seen a graduate of NOUN that was denied of an employment due to lack of NYSC discharge certificate, it is not fair at all.
” We plead to the Federal Government to implement our mandate for NYSC and Law school bill which was signed into law on Dec 4 2018 to allow graduates of National Open University of Nigeria to go for NYSC and Law School respectively.
“NOUN 2020 graduates must be mobilised together with the 2020 Batch A.
“Failure to comply with this, we shall all match as the largest university in Nigeria in all the 36 States and make it known to the world that we have been treated as second class citizens by our Government and all the activities of the government will be disrupted through social media and peaceful protest,” the statement made available to AMILOADED reads.pls share it to all social media, let fight for our right great great nou student.
