I almost wept. Can someone help me name anything good that is at optimal performance level in Nigeria? Cuz I've tried and really tried, but I found nothing 1 Like |

SarkinYarki: Without prejudice to the rest of your post... Lagos to Accra is same flight time as Lagos to Abuja: 1 hr 15 min. Frankly, it makes little LOGISTIC sense to take Nigeria-bound passengers to Accra (in Ghana) if Abuja (in Nigeria) is available. > 1 Like 1 Share |

SarkinYarki: BTW, Kotoka Accra actually has CAT 2 ILS, while Abuja (and Lagos) has been testing-running the CAT 3 ILS system since last November in the process of replacing the existing CAT 2 (not CAT 1) system. The system arrived in Nigeria in August 2019, and were installed and being test-run as far back as last November (or even October) with replacement supposed to have been completed by the third week of December, but not sure of the status. > 2 Likes |

sulaak: There's no need to build White Elephants... Both of Nigeria's major international gateways in Lagos and Abuja are built to be EXPANDABLE.... Meanwhile, traffic at both airports are less than capacity, and if/when required both would probably be expanded. > 1 Like 1 Share |

BedLam: It's NOT... That's exactly why systems are TEST-run. If there are equipment issues... That's from the OEM, not Nigeria. > 1 Like 1 Share |

You would think that no matter how bad things have been allowed to deteriorate, that they would let the Aviation sector be untouched by their corruption. The aviation sector is the first point of interaction with the so called investors and visitors. Its the first place most people see and the first experience they get. But no. Their sickness has not allowed any brain cell to remain. I hear flights are now being diverted.International flights! Indeed this is not a country but a free for few buffet with option of take away.We are just not a country 1 Like |

coker007:Oga. In poor visibility, modern aircrafts use instrument landing system. ILS. Ie the aircrafts navigational, control systems interacts with signals from well calibrated landing instrument on the airport runway. The aircraft can even land itself with little input from the pilot. What will you say about countries such as Russia where you have cold, heavy cloud cover, storms and blizzards, etc. E mean say plane no go land there again naa. In earlier post, a well informed person explained of how obsolete the landing systems in Abuja and Lagos is compared to that in ghana. The fault is our usual imcompitence. 1 Like |

9jaRealist: I have never spent on hours from Lagos to ghana all my neither have I spent 1 hour 15 minutes to Abuja so you don't know what you are saying ...I have done Lagos to Abuja on small jets in 45 minutes and on bigger commercial jets between 50 to 58 minutes , the ghana flight is so short that immediately the finish climbing before you you know you hear the call for approach entry |

Commentor: What is the difference in what he said and what u are saying?? U have only succeeded into confirming he knows what he’s saying to the T. Which is our airport ILS Systems are obsolete even till date and if this had been functional like Ghana this issues wudnt have arisen. So what is outlandish about his comments? What is his sole purpose in stating the facts of the matter than hiding under poor weather to confuse naive people? |
