How is a car year calculated? some cars made almost at the end of the year, (let's say 2008) will be tagged as a 2009 car. Please I need someone to explain this. is this done on in Nigeria or it's so everywhere else? Thanks

This is a 2009. The 10th digit in the chassis number represents the year it was manufactured

Also anything produced from June of the year of manufacture will be counted as the preceding year

Not in all cases does the production month reflect the model year, a simple example is the 2017 Honda accord produced in later years of 2017, one cannot call it a 2018 model cos of that cos the 2018 model is a complete overhaul.

According to CarGuideNGR, with the image below, it means it is 2011 and not 2012 even though its date is 10/11

There comes the technicality.
Sometimes manufacturers don't stop production of a previous model because there's a newer model. Therefore, there can be a 2015 to 2017 model manufactured in 2018.

Sometimes manufacturers don't stop production of a previous model because there's a newer model. Therefore, there can be a 2015 to 2017 model manufactured in 2018.

The Honda is a clear example. It's more common in models that received total refresh in facelift models. E.g highlander 2015 facelift, Honda Accord 2018 facelift, Camry too and so on
