Yes
It depends on what you have on ground before.

If you already have a space to do the selling.
Should you be living around the place and security is guaranteed , you can just arrange planks outside and get it covered with thick tampolins and tie it with rope at night (I only suggested the above to manage your funds with you, a shop will be OK.

That sorted

In my area, the minimum a truck can bring to you is 100 bags
The loaders and offloaders now collect #15 per bag ( if the place to offload it isn't far from where that truck is parked)
Meaning you do be paying them #1500 for 100 bags

Again, in my area, the Dealer collects #2480 from me for Lafarge Elephant, so MOQ of 100 = 248,000

This price just surge in February due to the new VAT policy that added about #62 to cement Price

And I sell at #2600

I hope this little helps

You can read my last comment to calculate how many bags your 1 million can buy .

On profit, its a business of Rate Of Turnover.
Someone who's capital only accomodate 100 bags but with high RoT will be doing well in profits that another who's capital can order for 400 bags but with low RoT.

Now the cause of RoT is location and number of competitor avaialble

Proximity to building sites go along way to determine the turnover rate

On comparism between cement and provisions store , it depends on where and which scale. Provision stores has diversity. You are the only one that can make that comparison after looking through your environment to see which of the two is best fit.

Well done Mr Tito for your updates on this cement issue
Please what is the current price buying directly from the factory (Obajana precisely)
Secondly, does it pay buying from distributors or should I go to the factory as I have a big project whereby I need 2 trailer loads of cement

Thanks in anticipation

Ok.This is how it works.Assuming Dangote sells a bag of cement to his distributors at the cost of 2300 a bag,he then gives them a target of 45000(500 trucks) bags every month to qualify for a rebate. He could say the rebate is 100naira per bag.In order to meet target and earn the rebate,a distributor can sell a bag for 2270 to fasten sales and meet up with the target, knowing fully well that the rebate(commision)will still be enough to cushion that initial loss of 30naira and still put him or her on good profitability.
Mathematically,u buy 2300
You sell 2270.
You intially run a loss of 30.
Then you meet sales target and earn additional 100naira
When u subtract ur initial loss of 30 from the earned rebate of 100 naira,u have made a profit of 70naira.
Most times, due to this particular reason,Dangote distributors sell at a slightly cheaper rate than the company price.

Nice analysis. However, 45,000 bags is 50 trucks
