I don't know the ownership structure but government officials keep their self interest. So, something could be up. For those saying government should exclude the private sector. Could government have built those platforms? They would have sunk 10times what ippis has saved till date with no results. Now everything is done, dem dey shout private sector. And what is this move supposed to achieve. Galaxy has been in existence for over 10 years and has not been able to achieve 50% of its mandate; most civil servants still use yahoo mail to send confidential government documents.

Now the cake is baked and looks tasty, now they want to ‘takeover’...this should be resisted. They can make suggestions on how to host and manage the database due to sensitivity fo the information but the management should be left with current system custodians with appropriate NDAs in place.
