Some questions this Buhari must answer:
1.   What is the outcome of the Federal Inland Revenue Service N90 Billion corruption allegation and the 2019 Presidential Election?

2.   Why is President Buhari seeking NASS approval to release N10.1 Billion to Kogi State on the eve of the Guber Election, after promising that no state will get refund for FG projects done by them?

3.   Why was the N25, billion corruption charges leveled against the former Governor of Gombe State, Senator Danjuma Goje dropped by the EFCC?

4.   What is happening to the report of the House of Representatives Committee, indicting NEMA on the N5.8 Billion corruption allegation?

5.   How much is President Buhari paying on subsidy?

6.   What is happening to the N2.5 Billion NBC’s fraudulent contract?

7.   Who owns the Ikoyi apartment where billions of Naira was discovered by the EFCC and why are we not hearing anything about the case?

8.   When will the first Lady, Aisha Buhari’s ADC be tried for the huge allegation of corruption leveled against her/him?

9.   Who reinstated and double promoted Abdularasheed Maina?

10.When will the NNPC $25 billion scandal be investigated and who are the people behind it?

11.What is happening to the N500 Million MTN bribery scandal?

12.What is happening to the embezzlement of IDP millions of Naira by the former SGF on the grass-cutting corruption allegation?

13.What happened to the N49 Million cash found at the Kaduna International Airport and who is the owner of the money?

14.Why is President Buhari still spending billions of Naira maintaining all the Presidential fleets he promised to sell if elected into office?

15.Why is President Buhari and his family still traveling abroad for medical care after promising he will stop medical tourism if elected as president of Nigeria?

Thanks

One moment last Wednesday , the northeast Nigerian city of Maiduguri , now sadly the centre of the Boko Haram conflict , was dressed up in colours of pomp and power.

President Muhammadu Buhari, facing strident criticism, including calls for his resignation over issues of insecurity nationwide, was flying in from an official visit to Ethiopia .

His visit was billed as a “ sympathy ” or “ condolence” visit over the killing of about 30 persons in Auno on Sunday by the militants , but he was boldly and lustily booed in the streets by the same people who selected him just one year ago .

Worse still , when he returned to Abuja hours later , it was to the news that right after he had departed Maiduguri with the all flashing lights and appurtenances of power , Boko Haram scoffed by brazenly attacking the suburb of Jiddari Polo.

There was even more contempt thrown at Abuja a few hours later : Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau appearing on a new video dispatch warning Buhari never to return to Maiduguri “ or else !” .

Shekau , remember, has been “ defeated ” again and again by the Buhari government : technically , largely , completely , overwhelmingly , officials would announce. He has himself has been “ killed” again and again by the same government for four years, Army Chief ( and local Borno lad ) Tukur Buratai three years ago even demanding his head , dripping with blood.

And yet there he was again on Thursday , laughing at the government from the top down .
“ Buhari came to Maiduguri pretending to be a good man but he is not ,” Shekau taunted, and then, addressing him directly, said : “… You have deceived the people by telling them you are a just leader; carry on!”

It is interesting that contrary to two directives in the past three years by Buhari and one by Vice - President Yemi Osinbajo , ordering the service leaders to repair to the northeast and combat Boko Haram from there , they are all regular party fixtures in Abuja .

On to Abuja then, where the government during the week went back to denying that Buhari ever promised he would publicly declare his assets .
“ In a private meeting with the President ,” presidential spokesman Femi Adesina recalled , “ one of the first questions I asked him was, this promise about public declaration of assets, when are you doing it and then he asked me, can you please show me where that promise was ever made and lo and behold, we searched everywhere , there was no place where the president ever said he will do a public declaration. ”

Which unveils a key problem with the Buhari government : that , philosophically , it does not classify incest as a problem . Otherwise Buhari would have posed his “ answer ” to someone other than a member of his choir .

Even then, Adesina is an interloper on this subject . He ought to have referred the issue to his colleague , Garba Shehu , who has handled it for the government since 2015.

Shehu would have told him that their principal clearly and certainly disseminated such a plan in 2015 , and that it was on that basis that he, Shehu , told the nation on June 6 that in fulfillment of that campaign promise , the assets declaration of the president and the vice -president would be made public as soon as verification was completed by the Code of Conduct Bureau .

But the answer to Buhari’ s question is that his commitment received worldwide broadcast in his open letter 10 days before the election in 2015 , which we hope he at least read. In it , he mailed his “ Covenant With Nigerians , ” in the form of specific pledges .

The item about transparency was the first, the clearest and the most important : “ I pledge to: Publicly declare my assets and liabilities and encourage my political appointees to also publicly declare their assets and liabilities .”

Among others , former Lagos Governor and now Minister for Works and Housing , Babatunde Fashola , campaigned with the Covenant, specifically the transparency pledge. Elder statesman Ahmed Joda ’s Transition Committee included it in its 800 -page report.

Buhari feasted on the acclaim those pledges brought him , never once contradicting it .

That was until it came time to pay the transparency bill , that is : to deliver on the promise . The Covenant was then repudiated. As was Buhari’s 100 -day pledge. As was the APC Manifesto— in effect— from which the Nigeria leader said he had derived the pledges.

It would seem , in hindsight, that the entire APC plan was a hoax . I have provided a link to that manifesto , as filed by APC with the electoral commission , so that Nigerians can verify the APC swindle for themselves .

In it , APC promised , among others : three million new jobs a year ; healthcare for all ; and guaranteed free education.

APC said it would “ Triple education spending over next 10 years, from the current .5 % to 24 . 5 % . ” Triple ? Five years later , education spending in the current budget is an abysmal 6 .7 % !
APC said it would : “ Immediately increase the proportion of Federal spending on healthcare from 5 . 5 % to 10 % , with the aim of bringing it to 15 % by 2020 .” Well , this is the 2020 , and the health sector is receiving an abominable 4 .14 % of the budget.

To enhance security, the party said it would “ Employ at least an extra 100 ,000 police officers and establish a properly trained and equipped Federal Anti - Terrorism Multi-Agency Task Force to destroy Boko Haram and any form of insurgency. ”

To tackle corruption , APC said it would : “ Create a functionally independent anti -corruption agency , with adequate and predictable funding and full prosecutorial powers and free from political interference.” Has anyone seen an independent EFCC?

APC said it would : “ End immunity from prosecution for sitting politicians .” On the contrary , APC is championing impunity and boosting immunity, as in the case of Kebbi State Governor Abubakar Bagudu.

To protect elections, APC pledged to : Create a functionally independent and well - resourced Electoral Commission which is free from political interference. ” (Anyone who thinks there is a free INEC should watch how quickly my hyperlink to the APC manifesto vanishes from the INEC website.)

As with Buhari’s assets pledge, all these promises by the party have also vanished.
The point is that Nigeria is swimming in sewage that is far deeper, sadder and uglier than Buhari’s declaration of assets . APC has committed a historic and comprehensive swindle that never even entered the mind of the PDP.

Now , even if Buhari never stated he would publicly declare his assets , he needed to back up his transparency claims beyond the “ don ’t give a damn ” standard of his predecessor . That ( not wisdom, or extensive education, or oratorical skills, or wizardry in matters economic) was the difference— the CHANGE— he was bringing .

But Buhari then declared he never claimed he would be transparent . In effect: that he was not the same Buhari who repeatedly told Nigerians — and Chatham House in London — he would be leading “ from the front ” and by “ the force of personal example .”

But Nigerians know. They know now that Buhari lacks what he claimed and possesses what he must hide .

In the end , that is why Nigeria is now far worse shape , and why Buhari is hearing those boos from his victims.

Thank you, my brother, for that observation

I didn’t have to do much observing. It is there for everybody to see.

Take this article from YESTERDAY’S paper, it raises a sense of outrage even in non-partisan, non-political people like us.
Note the bolded.

That Supreme Court Magic Judgment
This Day (Lagos) 17 FEBRUARY 2020

... According to summary of trial materials, no ward collation agent was called to show that at the collation center results were brought from the 388 polling units where the alleged exclusion took place...

The petitioner, rather called 28 polling unit agents who came to identify some of the results tendered by the petitioner from the bar. All the electoral documents were tendered from the bar and thus dumped on the court without anybody giving evidence correlating the contents of the result forms with the tabulation done by the petitioner himself.

Each of the 18 polling unit agents under cross-examination, manifested ignorance of the contents of the documents and never convinced anybody of being present in their claimed polling units...

When confronted with the purported result sheets tendered by the petitioners, each of the witnesses admitted as follows:
i. The names and signatures of the Presiding Officers are not well found on those results.
ii. The names and signatures of other party agents did not appear on the result sheets, neither could they mention even one party agent of the other political parties in those booths.
iii. The result sheets do not contain the total number of ballot papers used and number of ballot papers unused or invalid. The scores of political parties are not clear on the face of the documents.

Based on the above, it appears the Supreme Court was desperately working to an answer in favour of the ruling party... and the only opening to do that was to accept the fictitious results of the 388 polling units willy-nilly. And instead of doing substantial justice on the matter, it ended up delivering one of judiciary's greatest infamies which even a kid learning arithmetic can see through. The judgment turned logic on its head, rewrote the basic universal laws of arithmetic and did grave and substantial injury to our democracy and the power of the people to choose who governs them. With this judicial precedent, the Supreme Court has inevitably rubber-stamped political rascality and the judgment could shape our democratic future.

The court has widened the opening which politicians exploit and manipulate to get into elective offices. All one needs to do is to stay somewhere, maybe in one's room, probably with one policeman or so, write one's own results, submit to INEC for counting and if it refuses, don't worry, bid your time till you get to the court. With supreme arrogance, the final court of appeal will recognise the results as legitimate, credible and authentic and pronto, you will be declared duly elected.

...Even more perplexing was the fact that in some of the polling units, voter turnout was more than the registered voters. How is this possible?
In Uzodinma's result sheets, there was no voided vote and only two parties, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and APC participated and were reflected in the election results of the 388 polling units. Yet, 70 political parties participated in that election and were all reflected in the INEC declared results of other polling units all over the state.
..,Does it mean that other parties such as All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Action Alliance (AA), etc., did not participate in the election in those 388 polling units contrary to INEC's results in other areas of the state?
Why did the result sheets reflect only two parties when so many parties participated in the said election? Apparently, Senator Uzodinma concocted those results that fly in the face of the basic laws of arithmetic and common sense between the PDP and the APC after the fact that the PDP had won the election and he only scored his party a vote figure higher than the PDP vote. The corollary to that is that if it was any other party that was on the cusp of victory, Uzodinma's results would have been between just the APC and that party! Yet our almighty Supreme Court glossed over all these fundamental anomalies in Uzodinma's result sheets which had been rejected by even INEC... and accepted same as authentic.
A further assessment of the result sheets of the disputed 388 polling units showed that the said units are all in the Orlu Senatorial Zone where Uzodinma and the candidate of the Action Alliance Ugwumba Uche Nwosu come from. So even if the 388 polling units were concentrated mostly in Uzodinma's ancestral home, surely, Nwosu who emerged second in the March 9, 2019 election in Imo State and was backed by the incumbent governor at the time, Rochas Okorocha, his father in-law, must have amassed some votes from the units. But these votes were curiously missing, for the simple reason that they forged the results, and very badly at that.
Furthermore, Uzodinma of the APC scored an average of 98% of the total votes cast in the 388 units, whereas he scored an average of 13% in the remaining polling units in the state. How could this be? Why was it that it was only in these 388 units throughout the state that the voter turnout was either more than the registered voters or achieved 98 to 100 percent of the registered voters? Please note that emphasis is NOT on the number of accredited voters which is usually far less than the number of registered voters. Uzodinma's fake results validated by our Supreme Court defy reason. The pattern of the results from the disputed 388 polling units clearly shows the improbability of such an occurrence. And on the basis of the testimony of one policeman, and 28 discredited polling units' agents who gave contradictory statements at trial, the Supreme Court accepted the results.

In declaring Uzodinma governor of Imo State, the Supreme Court simply annulled a valid mandate freely given to an individual and transferred it to another person who came fourth in the election.

You have a point.
However, until someone publicly acknowledges that he or she made an error- in this case, a grave one that has led to Nigerian deaths and a country in seige of Fulani terrorists- we should not assume for the person and suggest that "he has realised his error".

He/she had a mouth then. He/she has a mouth now. They can speak if they really want to acknowledge that they made an error.
Until that confession is publicly made, the fellow hasnt actually realised that they made an error. Forgiveness isnt assumed. It is requested, through the tongue. We should stop assuming for people, anyway. I think it is belitting.
He hasnt made that acknowledged. I cannot give him any credit.

Again, fair points you have made. Can't argue with them.

I used to read his column (I think it was in the Sun or the Guardian?) then but I haven't done so in a while. It would be interesting to run through all his pieces from 2015 to date to see whether or not he ever publicly admitted his error in backing Buhari for the presidency. He just may have done this.

If indeed he ever put in print his regrets in backing the Buhari administration - then I think he's done his bit. The climate then was one of extreme frustration with the GEJ administration - and the public were desperately looking for a saviour. Unfortunately, their choice was an emotional one and not a rational one.

This administration has been a massive disappointment for those who put their hope in it. They have learned a bitter and expensive lesson.

If he did, believe me, I would write it here. And will actually applaud him. He hasnt, to the best of my knowledge. It takes a lot of humility to do that, which is generally short supply to the average man.
Similar arguments I have with those proposing "forgiveness of Sowore and getting behind him". I am like, "the dude hasnt asked for forgiveness or acknowledged his foolishness and tribalism!". Why should we assume and speak for him? It is improper.

We know how this goes. If someone does not publicly acknowledge his error and goes the extent to give reasons for his foolishness, it suggesrs that (1) he has no regrets and (2) given a different day and period, he will still undertake that foolishness.
It is important that we make no assumptions for these indivuduals, Buharists, like I call them. Sonola inclusive.
