As I create this thread, I'm standing at a First Bank branch somewhere in Abuja. Pathetic is the best way to describe the situation here.

1. In spite of the fact that the bank is located in a very big area with many businesses activities, there are only two persons (Teller) on the front desk, thereby leading to a long queue in the banking hall. To make it worse, the tellers don't have good customer relations, as they talk to people in what could best be described as rudeness.

2. Banking halls used to be cool environments with ACs in all corners of the hall. Ironically, in this particular branch, I can't spot any functional AC, nor standing or ceiling fan. I can easily spot people sweating up and down.. While those that can't resist are using their hands to fan themselves. This is very far from what we used to see in banks those days.

3. The Customer Care Unit is equally nothing to write home about. There's apparently nothing like courtesy in their dictionary. They make it appear as if they are doing you some favor, on top your money ooo... Imagine one useless girl telling me there's nothing she can do about my POS transaction error, that I should go back if it is not reversed in three weeks time then I should come back.

These plus other myriad of abnormalities made me wonder if the banks are either disgruntled due to recent CBN policies or they've just decided to embark on cost-cutting measures. Or may be the pay is not what it's used to be, hence the rude behavior of the staff....

Kindly share your experience in any banking hall, hopefully it would reach the appropriate authorities, so they can know the level of rot in the banking sector.

Gtb is the best when it comes to Banking infrastructure and conducive environment. Visit any Gtbank toilet and you will see what I mean.

I emptied my firstbank account a long time ago. Firstbank is a great bank no doubt, but the customer service needs help plus their policies needs checking. My savings accounts was getting up to 4 debit alerts every month.. N10 today, N50 the next week, N20 the week after.

I'd rather use peak milk container than firstbank
