Unfortunately, the State Security Service which has renamed itself DSS has reduced itself into conducting very basic operations which belittle the Agency. If they continue like this, they would eventually be merged with the Police and they would be under the CID. |

madridguy:What of the DSS guys currently fighting fulani herdsmen and harm bandits together with the military and other security agencies in Benue, taraba, nassarawa and zamfara? It's not really their job. My friend complain every day. The DSS should separate their people from the military. Let's respect our Nigeria CIA pls Kudos to the DSS on this |

Wickedfacts:He is actually right. As you might guess, many FBI employees are veterans who joined the Bureau after their military service because they wanted to continue serving America. For almost 100 years, the FBI has built a reputation as a world-class law enforcement agency, whose primary mission was to protect Americans from crime. But September 11 added greater depth to our mission and greater responsibility to the American people. Today, the FBI is not just a world-class law enforcement agency. The FBI is also a world-class counterterrorism and intelligence agency. Our highest priority is preventing terrorism. From FBI.gov |

chatinent:The FBI does not work with the military. Where do you get that nonsense from. The FBI is a civilian, law enforcement organisation. Its sphere of influence is exclusivély on American soil and will only operate abroad in cooperation with Interpol. The military on the hand is constitutionally barred from operating on American soil. They are an organisation of war and of projecting power not of law enforcement. The laws governing them are entirely different. It is not like Nigeria where the military and DSS does police work while the police is a business centre. |

madridguy:Oga FBI handles all matters of national security within the territory of the US. Including the war against terrorism. The military only gets involved to support the FBI when it escalates. However, external wars is handled by their Military and CIA. Also, DSS works to protect internal security and BH is a huge threat to internal security. So ordinarily, the DSS should be involved in our war against terrorism, but we all know BH would roast under a week. Cheers

I carefully read the statements from fellow nairalanders above and some are disappointing sincerely..did y'all see the fact the tanker drivers didn't just go on strike but went ahead to intimidate petrol stations to shut down..if they wanted going on strike they should have done that without forcing people to be a part of it..tanker drivers were arrested and not station attendants...how has the fueling station operating stopped their protest..shutting down the fueling station was the crime they committed and they deserve to be arrested..another bone of contention is using DSS which by and large is disappointing sha..what is the job of the police or civil defense? The security apparatus of this country is confused... |
