Lemme comment on this for everyone to be abreast of the work of the DSS as an intelligence organisation in the country. Their basic mandate is to procure intelligence and disseminate same to action agencies including NA, NPF, Customs, Immigration, Navy etc or the Political actors including the President, Governors Speaker etc on anything capable of impeding on Nation peace and stability. DSS does not go to war by their mandate but as at present, they are even at war with the Military in Borno state for the people doubting maybe they are together. U can confirm this if u have a friend in the Army posted to the North east. Also, DSS can act on any security threat that is capable of distorting public peace whice the action by the PTD association portends. PTD can have a peaceful protest but they have no constitutional right to enforce the closedown of filling stations anywhere therefore necessitating the action of the DSS. However, most of the citizens in Nigeria does not really know the work of this agency thereby castigating them often but DSS doesnt work to impress or arraign. They neither grant press conference nor parade arrested criminals for public to see. They procure intelligence and disseminate same in real time.

Tanker drivers have no business shutting down stations. They can only stop their members from bringing fuel into kano state. Only Ipman or pedan has the right to enforce closure of stations and that's if the station is registered with those bodies.

Not FBI but CIA... Just for the sake of correctness. CIA are with the soldiers on the battle ground outside the American territory, FBI is mainly for the homeland.

Truth be told our intelligence services always do eye services instead of doing the main hatchet job of intelligence gathering and passing it to the appropriate services for onward action. They should deploy more of those guys to the trouble zone to gather more intellence for better homeland security....

[I can't agree more with your submission, the problems in this country is synergy in the security aparachik of the nation. The police does the job of road safety and so on. Our security agencies prefer to do eye service than their main job description. With all the herdmen mayhem, bandits in the northwest, Boko Haram, kidnappers and so on, how many will dss boast of providing intelligence that brought them down? Your answer is as good as mine, it's really appalling for the nation.

I doubt they are right
Read the news well and notice that one of the drivers was released cos it was confirmed that he was supplying to road constructors. Does this not ring a bell that this is the unintelligent commando style of our law enforcement agencies of random arrests without proof?
I'm not saying the drivers ain't smugglers but relating to how these force men behave, one needs to question their acts

nobody attested the tanker drivers for peaceful protests,they have the right to protest(without constituting nuisance).


The tanker drivers take it too far by forcing fill-in stations.that's why they are arrested. The dss got this right.



Infact,i would have love if it was a combined team of some of the deadliest law enforcement agents like dss & FSARS that made the arrest.

Our people need to learn to always act in a constitutional manner.
