One actually called my daughter yesterday. He claimed he is a gtb staff in charge of atm maintenance. He asked her if she had picked her atm card at their nearest branch she said yes, he asked her to pick the atm to call number that start with 5 somthing. Immediately I heard that I asked her to put the phone on speaker so I could hear proper. She started calling some random number. Then d guy switch instantly saying "you wey water never dry for your head Wan DEy do ashawo work " and he hung up.
What surprised me the most is that d idiot knows her full name both first, initial and surname

They always like that. One called last week and told me to read the number at the atm for him to do his job in access bank.
I work in access bank o
I wanted him to waste as much credit as possible and so I played along and read random numbers for him.
He got my name, month and day of birth correct but needed the correct year. I guess this discrepancy came up as I usually register a younger year of birth in any one stuff that is not official (football age things). I read the younger year for him. He now asked me to read the number on my atm card for him before he will send a code that I will use. I said OK, pretended to be getting my card and after a minute started reading out random numbers to him.
He stopped me an insisted the number must start with 9. I told him that it is what I'm seeing that I'm reading to him.
After wasting his time for more than 10mins, the idiot wised up and realised he don jam rock and started insulting me. I refused to cut to waste as much of his airtime as possible cheesy

Your problem is you have heard alot about fraud and fraudsters but you are still not well informed . Fear n suspicion...that's still ok if that's you how stay safe

That was how one day a number called my mom that his father mistakenly sent her credit card met for him . She came to informed me about the situation in the kitchen while I was cooking.

It seemed odd to me and I wanted to tell her to just sent him the credit card number but common sense took over me and I told her that when next the strange number calls, she should tell him to inform his father that she won’t load the card , he should resend it to him.

She did exactly that and the number never called again.

Having read comments similar to this situation, I’ve concluded it was a scam ordeal about to take place . Thank God we didn’t fall for it .

At least my stupidity and foolishness has not gotten to the extent of one asking me for a code sent to my number.

He should cancel the registration and start a new one or edit the information on the registration SIMPLE

This format has been on for quite a while na.

Another format is you receiving recharge card number as SMS from an unknown number and someone calling you back that you should not load the card and if you agree, he will later call you that his old man wants to appreciate and pray for you, and that's where the scamming will start from.

well it's not new,last year someone called me and told me that he made a mistake while making registration for his jamb details and made use of my phone number,that pls I should send hime the code sent to me,I told him to call back let me check.

Well I got a code but it was actually from facebook telling me to use the code for a change of password,so a minutes later the guy called that have I seen the code I told him not yet but that am still waiting for the code.

then I asked him again,the code would be sent from jamb right and he said yes then I process to tell him that I got a code from facebook whis is for change of password of which I never authorized or requested for,that I don't know the fool trying such foolishness,but he should not worry once I got the code from jamb I would be the one to call and tell him

thats it he never call till then, am still waiting for his call

This is a weak statement, if you know that those calls cannot ever come from your bank and your bank has already warned you you that they can never demand such things from you unless you are the one that call to complain. Why then will any tricks make me release my infos? The only way I can fall victim is under gun point apart from that no tricks on this planet earth can ever make me fall victim, them. Never born the person that can convince me sef. If my atm or bank accounts have any issues I will walk to the bank branch myself and resolve it I don't need no other person to call to remind me of it OK.

I suspect this as wel. That was how a neighbor of mine fell victim. Someone called her and introduced himself as gtb staff(customer care unit). He told her she has problem with her bvn and he wants to help her out. That's how the Lady's #4k was wiped within seconds. What surprises me was this guy knew her name, and the name he introduced himself with, is also same as that of the Lady's gtb branch customer care staff. She went to the bank to make her complaint and they denied knowledge of it.

They sell this bank account details, phone numbers and other details with which this bad guys do the FINISHING !
