I said OK, pretended to be getting my card and after a minute started reading out random numbers to him.
He stopped me an insisted the number must start with 9. I told him that it is what I'm seeing that I'm reading to him.
After wasting his time for more than 10mins, the idiot wised up and realised he don jam rock and started insulting me. I refused to cut to waste as much of his airtime as possible

One guy called me with yoruba accent claiming to be my uncle in "the abroad"

He went ahead and said I should guess his name,I first call Yoruba name, he said no, then I proceeded and called ibo names, the guy said yes to one of the ibo names, I just giggled cos I no dey related to any of the names I called or even had friends bearing any of the names, the mumu was saying his own, me sef dey follow am, my mum and aunt not knowing wat was up were just wondering if I was high cos even me self was playing over dumb for him, till he said I should send money for him, told him to give me account details, the idiot guy ran out of credit, I was disappointed Sha cos I wanted to hear the end of his thrash

A good number of peeps that got scammed is cos of greed, but then there's another set that became victims because they wanted to offer help, being scammed is not something anyone would be proud off especially when you loose valuables

That sir, is not something I can answer cos I don't know, in the online world anybody can be anybody especially if it's a faceless forum like nairaland

I checked the phone numbers on his profile using Truecaller and it came up with real names, though I'm not 100% its real person but I'd like to assume it is, since Truecaller is a caller/name identifying service

The get ready for anything you see. When the originator of the detail say DONOT DISCLOSE. It means DONOT DISCLOSE. He didn't mention disclose only for business purposes. Any other thing is just inviting trouble legit or not. Personally I am not even worried about fraud. Identity theft is the real deal that can potentially end your life or put your in an irrecoverable position.

Lol, some mofo tried that format on me late last year,the old man con tell me say him want help me, come pray sotey he started reciting incantations, na when him tell me to dey repeat after am say make I dey put ma name I suspect foul play,i just cut the call come reason ma pops and he confirmed ma suspicion. Omo I wasted those guys airtime like say tomorrow no dey, nobody tell am to bone me when him see say na cruise I dey take am catch. Emi ika huh

One actually called me the other day and told me that he works with facebook and that my account is been used to defraud people bla bla. He then sent a code to my phone to confirm for him so that he can block my account from being used. I almost believed him but I became suspicious when he was too eager to know if i was using android phone. He cut off the moment i told him that he can't hack my phone cos an using Nokia touch light phone.
