Because he hasn't achieved anything in life, he shouldn't speak up the truth? This is actually the Mindset of a NIGERIAN and that's exactly what's stops development. You all got to change your characters for development to occur.
How is he right? What's your meaning of hard work? That someone's hard work, research and dedication result to great innovations like these dies not stop the brick layer from been a hard worker and researcher in his/her own right. We have to understand that it takes a lot to get to that level of technological development. It's more of a functional system, failed systems like us does not encourage such innovations. Agreed, it's an unfortunate situation but certainly, finger pointing is not a solution

Finished means u didn't do it well
As in cooking and eating? Do these your definitions apply also.
I doubt if it is that simple.

Can we say.. I have completed cooking as against I have finished cooking if one has cooked well according to your definitions.
Or I have completed eating not finished eating...

Just thinking

What truth did he speak? Is those selling grasshoppers and moi-moi the problem of technology or Nigeria as a whole rather the reverse is the case. They do it to earn a living.
You claim he is intelligent but he cant express his thoughts with the right analogy. Grasshoppers n moimoi, interesting

I wonder why our Government can't support our local inventors. Even our technology institutes are now the shadow of themselves. Which way Nigeria? Innoson vehicle is supposed to be dominating the African market by now had it been he was from the North, Dangote's cement Company is doing great across Africa today because of Support he enjoyed from Government. I wish our leaders will see beyond the ethnic division and make Nigeria great.

I don't think so. We don't have the first rate engineering schools to produce such talents. But we have the potential.
You are not really right. We don't lack talents. Nigeria already has very sound Engineers that can very well compete with those of the the develop countries

Great! For a long time they've been doing copy copy like my brother, Innoson. It's good thing that they're now contributing to the enhancement of auto technology. One day my brother too will invest in research and development and also starts to contribute something meaningful.

Kudos the Korean giants!

Sure we are working on it.

That reminds me of Gbenga Elect during my days on campus. He can't even change a lamp-holder, yet he can cram Fourier series in Engineering math like tomorrow no go come.
Most engineering student will prefer to do their Industrial Training in bank where they will be well paid to doing it in an organization where they will be well trained. Anyways, I won't blame them some of them need the money to settle their final session bills in school.[/quote]

executive12:

You obviously don't know much about the nature of the job of Engineers. Bye the way, Fourier series is not something you can cram. It's something you have to understand to be able to use it to solve problems.
So, if Gbenga Elect was good with Fourier series/transform, he is obviously smart. It's a complex mathematical analysis tool for Engineers.

Thanks bro what I said then which you quoted was true. By God's grace I am a graduate of Pure and Applied Physics and I did lots of Mathematical physics and science / engineering maths , I didn't say what I said then to ridicule our engineers but to let us know we have a lot of things to do. Why do you think Banking and Accounting firms recruit Science and Engineering graduates? Because they know we are smart and our ways of reasoning is better. But the truth is that should that always be the case? All these are happening because the government choose not to grow that area. I have some of my colleagues working in KPMG, banks And insurances companies then I begin to reason why? Well most are victim of circumstance, and man most chop. Then we console ourselves with statement like " whatsoever you studied is not the matter but what you can offer".
And as for the Gbenga Elect I mentioned, it was true because of his fear.
