Tiamiyu Kazeem: Police Recommend SARS Operative’s Dismissal Over Killing by obembet(f): 9:28am On Feb 25, 2020
The Ogun State Police Command has recommended that the operative of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad allegedly involved in the killing of the Assistant Captain of Remo Stars Football Club, Tiamiyu Kazeem, be dismissed.

The command said the operative acted unprofessionally.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had on Monday asked the Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Anthony Ogbizi, to investigate the matter.
The late Tiamiyu’s family on Monday insisted that he was murdered and thereby called for justice on the matter.

There were protests in parts of the state on Monday as residents took to the streets to show their displeasures over the matter.

State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the police management team paid a condolence visit to the family of deceased on Monday, promising the protesters that justice would be done on the matter.

Oyeyemi said the SARS operative involved in the arrest of the late Tiamiyu also known as Kaka had been tried in the orderly room.

Oyeyemi said the officer had been recommended for dismissal, adding that the police were awaiting approval from the Assistant Inspector General of Police zone 11, Ahmed Iliyasu, to carry out further action on the matter.

He said, “We have already investigated the man and tried him in the orderly room. We have also recommended him for dismissal but being an inspector, it is not the CP that will approve it and the recommendation has been sent to the AIG zone ll for approval and as soon as it is approved, that guy will be charged to court.”

He added that the police in the state had to do that “because there are lots of misnomers in this issue; first, he embarked on illegal duty, nobody sent him there and when he got there he didn’t deem it fit to book his presence at the Sagamu police station.

“Also, the guy acted unprofessionally because, if he arrests someone from such a long distance, why didn’t he handcuff him? So, his act of unprofessionalism led to the death of the man and that is why he will be charged to court.”

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Government has called on the protesters to leave the streets and remain calm, pledging to ensure that the late Kaka gets justice.

Serve the criminal in uniform right.

Here in PH, #Justice4Chima is gradually losing its momentum.
The commissioner of Police here is trying to sweep the matter under the carpet by pressuring on the family of late Chima to accept out of court settlement.. Imagine such an audacity from the CP, is it bcs the protest in PH was very peaceful and not violent enough to attract the high command in Abuja?

We must not keep silent over this matter until Late Chima get justice, it could be anyone else. An injury to one is an injury to all.

Recommend wetin? End SARS so that peace will reign in the country.

Nigerians, the only way to stop all these SARS excesses is.....if any SARS/Police kill someone, him or a direct family member gets killed too.

I am so disappointed in those Sagamu residents who held the SARS guy. They should have killed him asap.

Before you quote me....I have always been an advocate of "An eye for an eye"

Idiots.

Charge him for murder. If dismissal from your work place is the new penalty for killing people, make we dey kill dey go

You trained a M0f0 how to shoot guns and you want to dismiss him.

Have you not sent one Armed robber to the society ?

Time to reform SARS and spell out what their involvement should be and what it should not be.

Special Anti Robbery Squad should have no business chasing unarmed internet thieves in the first place.

You see our problem in this country.
The officer is sacrificed as if he was working alone.

The whole sars team should be fired and brought to mushin for jungle Justice.

Their mumu Governor was even threatening the protesters

Dismissal from the force isn't justice. He should be prosecuted and made to face the law squarely. He have caused pain to that family.

As if it was only one SARS Operative that was involved. They are covering up the rest.

I wonder how dismissal is now punishment for murder.
Let's just assume that his crime was because he was caught and that he wasn't able to flee on time from the scene of the incident.

Good move by the Ogun State police command.

Why the police officers that killed the Ikoku mechanic (Chima) in mile one police station in Port Harcourt are given soft landing is beyond me.

To think that the Police PPRO (Nnamdi Omoni) lied to Rivers people only makes the whole case worse.

Nigeria is really evolving .

If it were the days of the old , that SARS member would be rotting 6 feet below .

His death would be as a result of Amadioha/Sango mysterious ways .

Hmmm...

RIP Kaka.

“Also, the guy acted unprofessionally because, if he arrests someone from such a long distance, why didn’t he handcuff him? So, his act of unprofessionalism led to the death of the man and that is why he will be charged to court.”

OYO for the SARS official now, after dismissal he's an ordinary citizen that would be charged to court for murder. Police don wash their hand comot for the case be that. I wonder what will happen if the people of that community hadn't gone on rampage and protested his killing? Will all these not happen?

The police are just trying to deceive us here. Why are they not mentioning the killer's name.

Let them hand him over to the people, we need to see his blood flow too just like the person he killed.

Good way to start......

But dismissal is not the final decision of this senseless killing.

We will be waiting patiently for the final outcome.

Only dismissal?

He should be prosecuted and jailed.

SARS is a criminal organization embedded within the NF like some other security operatives running crime syndicates in the guise of fighting insecurity and corruption.
