Obtaining loans in Nigeria is the worst thing you can ever do due to the interest rates and secondly the unpredictable business enviroment expecially caused by government policies.
See sometimes around year 2001 I was contracted to supply certain equipment to faan. I took a short loan in £ to import the items. It took over 1 year+ before I could be paid. By then naira had lost value from N160 to N230. Luckily the loan was from a relative who left the interest and only said I should pay his money back in pounds. I made a loss but it would have been worse if I got money from bank as "amcon" still owned by federal government that also owns faan would have come after me and my assets.
How about people that have taken loans to import goods specifically for the Nigerian market? Some even perishable and the government over night closes the boarders? Then the default government own amcon seizes their assets.
