Yes Nigeria is that bad! What do you expect him to achieve playing for Nigeria? He has a better chance at winning international awards and laurels playing for England even if he doesn’t win any trophy with England. Atleast England can take him as far as semifinal of the euros and World Cup. Nigeria will hold him back, that’s the simple truth.

He will be used for friendlies but will never go for competitions. It's his choice really, local champion is not a bad thing. Abi?
