All this one na writeup. This was actually the initiative of akpabio during the Jonathan admin. Never saw the light as soon as Jonathan left. No western man want that kind of development in other state..they construe it as rivalry. Lagos port would rather choke and throw up and they will still not diversify it. Black man and greed are like Y and Z. |

lionness:Obviously, you do not understand your country's politics and how things work. Do read up about FG's "Exclusive List" and know how things are done. Short summary: the FG controls facilities like airport, seaport, electricity generation etc. Without FG's permission, no state (or, according to you, region) is allowed to to build any of those things. The Kaduna port you mentioned, did you think El-Rufai just built it without Buhari's say so? |

Wao, white elephant, Ibom Air, Ibom Power, International Stadium, and other factories were all termed white elephant projects, now a reality.. Mind you Akwa Ibom Airport is the only state built and owned airport in the country. You see, apart from the fact that Akpabio stole money, Akpabio and this current Governor are all top performers autolearner: |

Jerryz2050PMG:A public affairs analyst, your write up isn't complete.I was looking out for pictures of the site at least,to actually show you didn't just unearth the story from archive, as is the usual practice. You didntbeven give the location of the project, nor if its actually started. Its been in the news for too long and from all indication, its another audio project,a white elephant, designed to siphon money. Is it at ibaka or at uruan?has the ground breaking, been flagged?are contractors on site? MOU's,signed?even without, how prepared is the state at harnessing business boom from it,with no good federal roads leading to the state,to ensure containers are transported to other states?Umuahia road, bad, aba road bad, calabar road, worse.east west, non existing. |

tommenoh:MR I too know, ibaka is at mbo and not uruan, you've never even been close to Akwa Ibom and you're here yapping nonesense, Akwa Ibom has one of the best road network in the country, even constructing roads into abia. It's on the FG now to support the state and make it a reality and stop conjesting Lagos |

[quote author=autolearner [s]post=87055401]For a Geo-political zone, armed with so much funds from the FG, I think most South-South States are performing underwhelmingly. Absolutely chasing white elephant projects with no long-term plans for growth, just political clout. See this... Ask them to list what they've done without the influence of the FG asides paying salaries and a few km's of roads here and there, you'd be met with a loud silence. The only semblance to growth was when Donald Duke & Akpabio was in power and when they vacated office, the zone literally went side-ways in terms of any growth. Ask yourself, where's Tinapa today? The world literally wanted to be a part of Calabar Carnival every December. The real jokers are the IPOBs looking to secede into trash-filled cities like Umuahia ![]() You can't hold your Governors to propel a solid zonal growth plan, that would attract the best minds, and even make the gifted hands in Ariaria globally marketable, but you'll be screaming Tinubu & Buhari's names on Obasanjo's internet. ![]() Thanks to the FG for the seaport, hopefully, that would decongest our Highways., and reduce the high cost of shipping[/quote[/s]] Hey afonja yoloba Muslim, Shut the Bleep up! |

Paper Tiger from a Governor who is definitely going to prison. We will calculate 8yrs of Fed Alloc + IGR+Securiry Votes and deduct evaluated cost of his under-performance and he will be in prison like Orji Uzo Kalu and pay up the loot. Propaganda from his hungry press won't save him from blood pressure. His case will be worse. He has insulted many who were angels compared to him. |
