For programming I'd much rather have a mobile workstation than a gaming laptop. The graphics cards on each are designed for different things.

Brother you are wrong. A powerful PC will make coding easier for pros imagine all the lagging you will get when you try to run android studio + emulator +wamp+ a web browser and note++ on a system with 2GB memory

If u have a computer with low spec, try web development. Especially HTML, CSS and basic Javascript.

Still go for Web development if you have a low spec PC. Don't get stuck watching tutorials for too long. Build small small side projects after learning for 3 months or more. You can show those projects to your potential first boss.

Personally my favourite keyboard is the Thinkpad keyboard. Thinkpads to me are the best programming machines. What limits them though is Windows (which can be easily replaced with Linux).

You don't need a Mac to develop for Windows, you can use a PC to develop for mac, iPhone, iPad, android and everything you can think of.

I am using Fujitsu Celsius H series (i5). Its very powerful.

Business laptops would be good for programming. You don't actually need a dedicated graphic card except you are into game development especially 3d game development.

Infact when I see programmers saying ram , graphics etc I keep laughing in 2020 you need at lest 15.6 screen size that's the smalleat for programming
When you do web programming u will understand why u need wider screen


Keyboard :
You need keyboard which is upto 102 to 106 keys and such keyboard is what we called standard keyboard they are those keyboard that has number keys popularly known as num pads
Standard laptop keyboard sucks at programming , also international layout keyboard sucks go for us layout keyboard


Battery or power backup :
You need stable battery or power supply coz on pc 10 hours equals to 1hour when u dey code


Ram : 4GB minimum
Graphics :
This is where people gets confuse

If are going for amd :
Total system video memory should be : 2024mb and up
Dedicated : 128mb minimum

For Intel : 1600mb and up
Dedicated : 64mb minimum

For nvidia : 1800mb
