Reserve list there may be light at the end of the tunnel. They are considering calling all of them.
I said Considering ooh. Not confirm yet.

Like I said, there's something unique abt DSSC 27, it's either I get it right this time or I don't get it forever grin

Thanks a lot, I'm kind of scared already of being dropped from the training as you said because of this, I do cover 3 to 5km rmwhen jogging though. Really appreciate, your post on this forum has helped me a lot
pijay:
They will work on you properly and bring down your weight. Just on you own start jogging everyday and try your best to cover 2-5km. If for any reason you drop, they will use you as scape goat and they will say it is becos of your weight. All the best. Dont forget to drink lot of water.

Chemistdavy:
Yes, except that I'm never trying again...DSSC 27 was unique and I competed with my prime strength. I'll keep navigating my civil life and the private jobs...except if there is a reserve list and my name ends up on it...ahahaha grin
Bro.. Are you a chemist? What department did you apply for? Was it education?

This just gave me all the hope I need for this training, thank you tenderlaw,i know its from the past, but it means a lot
tenderlaw:
Gentlemen, just relax and prepare for training. If your name comes out, thank God. If it does not, still thank God and move on.
Prepare physically, but also prepare financially and mentally.
FINANCIALLY... They will pay you some small stipends, but most of it will go into buying white shirts/shorts, trainers, etc. No matter how many you take to camp, some jobs will condemn them after wearing just once. You must always appear neat or you will serve more job, so you must have a steady supply. Women, no need to buy pads. I assure you that there'll be nothing like menses in Onne.
MENTALLY... From the first night you enter camp, many people will regret the "mistake" of buying navy form. Some will cry...practically. They will crack you open, then build you up again. But relax and stay on because one day at a time, it will come to an end. You must get ready to do it because once you enter that gate, u cannot opt out. You can only leave 4 ways...in an ambulance, in a body bag, with disgrace, or with a glorious golden pip on your shoulder. Everybody can make it with just perseverance and with God.
Guys, it's all training. A day will look like one week, but it will surely end. When u see any officer, just imagine how that golden pip will brighten your whole village when u get it...and u will get there.
That's all for now.

Hello house,
Big Congratulations to all those who made it.

House, is there any need or hope for someone above 30 years to apply
for DSSC 28?

Want to try my luck this year again, am 30 this year
Re: Nigerian Navy Direct Short Service Course Aspirants(dssc) 2015 by Chemistdavy: 10:22am On Feb 29, 2020
Perhaps as a Chaplain, Imam or a Medical aspirant and if not,I hate to crush the hopes but with that age, the odds are low except of course you know a Rear Admiral and have impressed him enough to get you in.

Never applied for NAF in forever but search online, you'd get an iota of an idea about that. I expect similarities though.

with the new salary implementation of recent, Customs salary is on per with cbn
Re: Nigerian Navy Direct Short Service Course Aspirants(dssc) 2015 by Chemistdavy: 3:49pm On Mar 01, 2020
Oh, I get it. If customs average salary is truly almost equivalent to that of the biggest corporate bank in Nigeria, the money surely is truly mind blowing. Sublieutenants live pretty comfortable lives too. If after joining the Navy, you are not impressed, you can always opt out after 10yrs or so grin I'd take CBN over Navy sha.But as they always say, passion varies.
