Not yet, bro. Thank you for your reply. I opened it but unable to find the fault. Though it was hard to do desoldering of those FET from the board. So I have to leave it for now.

Ok, thought you got one. Was the FET the failed component?

Majority of such shorting is caused by failed FET. I will like to receive your own input. Thanks!

Thanks for this piece of information, I run a small mobile money shop, and I'm planning to include charging of phone because the area lack electricity entirely, can the specifications I post above suitable for it? Your advice will help me alot in taking my decision. Thanks

eleojo23:

Hmm...that's some load...another question, how many hours do you intend to use the solar setup?

I doubt your 26ah battery will be able to give you something satisfactory.

If you will use it mostly during the day time, consider getting a higher capacity solar panel so that you can utilize the solar power. Then get a 100ah battery to support.

I suggest you get 250W solar panel and 100ah battery.
That should cost around 60-70k depending on your pocket. There are 100ah batteries of around 30-35k which are manageable although you may have to replace them after one year.
The panel cost is around 25-30somethingK depending on the brand and ideally supposed to be good for 20 years so it's a long-term investment.

If you really want to enjoy solar, I think this is the least you should go for.

Ok, let's establish something first, how much are you willing to spend?

The 26ah setup you are contemplating will not serve you for a long time during the day unless you want to use it only for charging of phones.

I strongly advice you go with my recommendation in the earlier post since your area doesn't have grid electricity at all.

List the wattage of each appliance to give a better picture of your load.

Nexus Freezer -? (I use it with a 2.5kva generator and it runs it conveniently. So it seems energy efficient)
Fan - 55w
Light Points - 5 * 10w LED Bulb ( 50w)
LED TV - 75w
DVD - 25w
GoTV - 8w
Hi-fi System - 50w

N.B: I don't know the wattage of the freezer the energy label is no longer on it.. But I'm open to buy an energy efficient 200L Freezer.. Haier Thermocool or Midea.
Thanks

Gud day, please I need clarification on solar, I have a 24v setup and my batteries are completely dead so I connect the panels directly to my UPS in the day time and it worked so I have been using it without battery since then, but will there be any damage to the UPS if I continue to use it direct?. Thanks...

The wattage of the freezer needs to be stated, you can run an online search for that model or the models you intend to buy to view their spec and power consumption. That will help you make a better purchasing decision.

Also, you need to state your run time for each load to help give you a cost effective quote...

You can get everything you need around here but you need to size your load properly

My UPS is 1.5KVA/24v (Bluegate) and panels 300w*3/24v

If your controller can always maintain 24 to 27v output to the ups, I think it should be fine. Ofcourse gurus in the house may advice better.

I should have done this last week but I was in remote area all through the week. I want to use this opportunity to thank this noble house for the contributions I received late last year when i came here seeking for opinions and advice about a solar setup for my school project. Notable of mention is lexi28 he took time to advice and share from his wealth of experience, thanks a lot. Two weeks ago I was able to get the finances for my small solar setup for the project but I live in the the Northern part of the country and I was working on a tight budget so I needed to get things at the best price, I thought of Lagos but I don't have a contact in Lagos my instinct told me to contact Justcallmanuel and that was the best decision ever, this guys customer service is top notche. He replied my first message almost immediately and continued that way even after I sent him money(unlike other sellers that give less attention the moment they receive your money) and even helped to waybill the same day. Even when there was a delay in my goods reaching me as anticipated a fault of the transport company he became more concerned than me that just spent close to a 100k. I give this seller 7 stars out of 5 stars, the two extra stars are for his prompt response and wonderful customer service. Thanks Nairaland for making this kind of deals possible. I received my goods in excellent condition

Lol, I done buy many many things from this guy.. na confirm guy ..

Is anyone selling battery of 40ah here? How much? Thanks.

What solar panel will charge a 40watts rechargeable standing fan if it gets to 30% dod daily

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Topmost11(m): 10:54pm On Mar 02, 2020
How/with what do I connect the panel to the fan solar port. What is the name and where do I get it. The small panels I have used come with crocodile clips.

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Topmost11(m): 11:35pm On Mar 02, 2020
The follow come battery is 12v 4.5ah and consumes 40watts. I have replaced the battery with 7ah by extending/passing wire externally to the battery. Now I want to dedicate a panel to it. What size of panel should I get? Thanks

if the battery aint totally dead, it might be better hooking them up to a cc so as to serve as a voltage limiter, eslse i am pretty sure you will definately fry the inverter and/or the controller in no time.

I have something similar like this, it never goes of ..like the fan is running forever 24-7.

I use a 40ah battery, and 150 watt panels and a 30amp chinko charge controller.

With a QASA solar standing fan 24watts(highest speed), I use it for 24-7 never off.. it also power some other stuffs like Laptop and phone charging ( extra 30 watts - when needed)

It have never gone below 12.6-12.7 volt and the battery gets fully charge before 12pm-1pm (even in cloudy or raining weather.
