Digitron: How did we as Africans convince ourselves that owning land is less important than 'investors' lol. What will the investors do? take your land and hire you to work in it? When they fire you or return to their home country you're not landless and jobless. What if they don't hire you at all? We should never support policies that take land from landowners, especially without compensation. No Southeastern state needs a 'centennary city'. Take the energy and money and improve our current cities to centennary status. Building these separate cities for the rich are just ways for politicians and people abroad to by 7-12 houses that will collect dust or be rented out to the people the land was stolen from. 4 Likes |

Digitron: I hope this is true! This is what should happen when people use tricks to acquire large expanse of land promising to develop it. Only to turn around and start looking for how to sell the same land to private developers at exorbitant prices! They should give up the choice land because they neither have money nor the intention of developing the place. It is another type of ongoing fraud to pose as estate companies, and to acquire large hectares of land fraudulently from the government.Just to re-sell the land at very high prices to private citizens to develop. 2 Likes |

Enugu airport will be reopened before Easter, Sirika reiterates Senator Hadi Sirika, Minister of Aviation has reiterated that Akanu Ibiam International airport, Enugu closed down in August, 2019 for runway rehabilitation will be reopened for use before Easter. A statement issued in Abuja and signed by Mr James Odaudu, Director of Public Affairs in the ministry, said Sirika gave the assurance after an inspection visit to the airport on Thursday. According to him, the Federal Government recognizes the importance of the airport to the whole of the South East region and the hardship occasioned by the closure. Sirika however, maintained that closing of the airport was done in the interest of safety and comfort of air travelers from the region. He commended the handlers of the project on the quality of job done, adding that the airport, when delivered, would be one of the best in the country. On the reported shortage of some materials needed by the contractor, the minister said it was being addressed noting that it would not be an impediment to the completion of the project. “Work on the new terminal building at the airport will resume in earnest, regarding the budgetary provision for it in the 2020 budget. “The present administration met the terminal project at about 20 per cent but had taken it to about 60 per cent completion stage. The representatives of the Enugu State Government and the South East Governors Forum, who joined the minister expressed appreciation to the federal government for brave action in shutting down the airport for rehabilitation. See the difference btw ugwanyi and Sullivan? Whereas Sullivan used reputable contractors that delivered quality projects that bear testimony to that, ugwanyi is using cheap, unknown contractors that deliver poor, shoddy jobs,in order to save cost and syphon the rest. Look at the rubbish this man is constructing all over Enugu, do these look presentable? Just grade 2km stretch of road of 5m span, pour asphalt and snap pictures. Is this what we voted for. This man has never started and finished anything called a "standard road" with the basic: dual lanes, a median,side walks and street lights. Go and check. Many intra city roads are going bad, and need just a little attention, but this buffoon is more interested in propaganda.. Ugwanyi's govt will be forgotten very quickly, if things don't get worse than they already are of course. 6 Likes |
