There's always a breakpoint for some of these diseases.

After a while, the pathogen begins to mutate to keep its host alive and becomes a part of the hosts biological make-up.

i.e if cure is not found on time.

My opinion...

Africa is lucky so far not to have an epidemic, but scientists are certain it’s only a matter of time!

I think African countries should’ve used to window of delay to prepare, rather than hope it will remain that way. Seriously if Africa is plagued with bad leadership, corruption, insurgency, poverty and others, why do you think diseases won’t be able to affect the region?

Isn't hiv an epidemic in africa undecided

The health workers working round the clock in Nigeria to make sure the virus dont spread need to be commended.

But those 35 people who boarded the same flight with the index case and who are no where to be found are our major threat now.

How prepared are we for any eventuality that may arise (God forbid) from the actions of these unpatriotic folks?

viruses don't mutate to keep the host alive, it mutate or multiplies to keep itself alive...viruses don't know or care about it's host, they only care about self survival....I don't know of any known pathogen that mutate to keep the host alive and I doubt if that is possible or realistic....Viruses don't feed the host, neither do they produce or supply multivitamins needed to ensure the well-being of the host...they are parasitic and opportunistic in nature...thank you

You underestimate them then.

How does the virus keep alive if it destroys its host?

Their self survival is totally dependent on their host being alive and able to transmit them to another healthy host. A dead man can't move around.

The various bacteria in the mouth, anus, stomach of man, do you think they got there by accident or do you think they are not dangerous to their host because of their kind-heartedness?

I think not.

The only way the virus survives in the long run is if it learns to adapt and mutate to keep its host alive in a SYMBIOTIC relationship.

If the host dies, it also dies.

lol, the reason you are thinking this way is because you are human. Viruses on the other hand don't have the same thought process as you do. Any mutation a virus undergoes is for two main purposes: survival and reproduction. And for the record, Viruses don't undergo symbiotic relationship with its hosts...they are opportunistic microorganisms

Stop saying what you don't know, or have no authority on, viruses are not all pathogens, we have some mutually beneficial viruses and bacteria

bacteria I know can be beneficial! But I will like you to give me an example of a beneficial virus. Would a Corona virus be an example...pls dont come online and misinform the public. There can never be a beneficial virus. Sometimes when when people come online and sound confident of their opinions they don't really know what they are talking about.....I am waiting for your beneficial virus, don't disappoint me oooooo
