My utmost concern is that, let those lending this money and we Nigerians ensure that the monies are judiciously put to use as ascribe to. For I see nothing wrong in borrowing for development. God bless Nigeria!!! |

jimyjames:Has Lagos State government not been attracting foreign money? What of Dangote, you think the refinery he is building is with his money? That's foreign money folowing investments. The problem is the kind of leadership we have in the East. Tell me which of the governors have something in his brain. All of them are total misfits. In addition the money presently borrowed won't be adequate to tackle the nations problems of infrastructural decay. So having a proactive regional target will go along way In helping solve the problems. |

diplomat058:Abeg which industrial might, which GDP index ? When oil price dropped in 2016 what happened everyone entered into recession. Your Indusrial might what's your contribution to real $ earnings to the nations income. Everybody is tied to crude oil earnings. So I wonder the so called industrial might. Secondly you can't compare the East to yourself. The government at the center has been spoon feeding you while the East has been extremely marginalized since after the war. And still you lot are not better than the East even with all this spoon feeding. The only problem we have in the East is non radical, inspirational leadership. That can leverage on the strength of the igbo man. We had inspirational leaders before people like Micheal Okpara, Akanu Ibiam, Dee Sam Mbakwe. All these men there development agenda helped the East after the war. All our present governors are total misfits and they are propelled up by the government at the center. Example the aberration that happened in IMO state recently. |

[quote author=sulaak post=87216170]The North is not greedy, they are smarter than the greedy Niger-Delta politicians that will build $10 airport for $200 million ( Bayelsa airport). The North are investing in infrastructures that will sustain them for the future, an updated railway from Kano to Lagos will improve logistics and distribution in the North. The Mambila Dam will improve electricity in the North. This should have been GEJ/IWEALA/Diezani flagship project: – Railway modernisation coastal railway project (Calabar-Port Harcourt-Onne deep seaport segment ($3.47bn; Cross River and Rivers states) The South-South should be thanking Buhari. /quote] You have valid points there, Sulaak, but I still believe, in all honesty, that GMB is not fair to the South East region. The south East reps in Buhari's government and the National Assembly, with the exception of Senator Abaribe, should bury their heads in shame. The South West was in opposition during the 1st and 2nd Republic and were not deprived of any infrastructural development by the governments in power then. |

DexterousOne:Valid points up there, sir. All members of APC from the South East region serving in GMB's government and the National Assembly are all 'serious let downs' to their people. They should all bury their heads in shame. |

raker300:I may disagree with the Igbos on my topic here in this platform but the truth must be said, this is bad for national cohesion. No serious project in this loan will be sited in the east. Buhari has taken nepotism to the next level. What I fail to understand is the same east wants another northerner in 2023 when they can get it themself or have a liberal southern president like Obasanjo who carries everyone along. Priority infrastructure project should be Enugu-Lagos rail, through Enugu-Anambra-Delta-Edo-Ondo-Ogun-Ibadan-Lagos Port Harcourt -Kano rail, through PH- Abia-Enugu-Benue-Kogi-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Lagos -Kano: Lagos-Ogun-Oyo-Kwara-Niger-Abuja-kaduna-Kano Lagos-Calabar: Lagos-Ogun-Ondo- Delta-Bayelsa-Rivers-Akwa Ibom-Cross Rivers. These are the most important railway route in Nigeria. |

The mabila power project will supply electricity to the power grid which will serve the whole nation and in fact, it was initiated by Jonathan gov't. |

Truth is the igbos wud always win no Matter the anti Igbo policy by any government. It dint start today but look at igbos now , by far the richest n most successful tribe in Africa. |

djon78:You asked, 'which industrial might?' Are you trying to be spiteful right now? Given all indices, you can not compare the SE to the SW. The latter is far ahead. Despite the fact that oil constitute the mainstream chunk, the region has still managed to dominate the non oil economy. The other guy talked about the monopoly of Industrial Clusters in Aba and the rest and I asked him, 'how could you say such when Ogun State is widely regarded as the Industrial Capital of Nigeria. I don't know what the talk about spoonfeeding is about. But I guessed you meant the unprecedented privileges enjoyed by the SE under Jonathan. You can't compare a cat to a Tiger, bro. The figures don't lie. Check out the stats from the NBS, World Bank and so on and you would see for yourself. Thanks and Good Morning |

Out of over $22b, this govt intends spending $500m on education. That shows the value they placed on education. Also check the intended spending on health, less than $100m. They are spending less on health and education because they still want a reason they and their families will continue going abroad.
