Elderstatesman and second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed on Monday said the dethroning of former Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammad Sanusi II by the Kano state government won’t cause any religious crisis in the state.

When asked by our correspondent if the action by the state government will not plunge the state into a religious crisis as the citizens perceive the Emir as a spiritual leader, Junaid said ” What kind of religious crisis? The governor and the Emir are both Muslims, are they not? So, what religious crisis will that cause? Anyhow, let’s wait and see what happens” he said.
