olabode89:It was more of passion than tactics, how come we don't see such against the Everton and Burnleys. |

Spy360:You see how they look like giants, see Viera They bossed everywhere, win duels, cover grounds, doesn't chicken out and were brave to the core. 442 will work for them. Far from slow, weak, soft and laziness.

Fkhalifa:Did you watch both games against Burnley and Everton. Hope you know we won 2-0 at Turf Moor. At Old Trafford we missed couple of chances before conceding from a set piece and a wonderful goal from Jay Rodriquez. Against Everton at Old Trafford we conceded a goal from a set piece and De gea was also fouled. At Goodison park De Gea made a stupid mistake. In both games we employed different tactics and had good chances to win the game. |

olabode89:I saw those games, utd looked just good but not as what we saw against city, even if city had won the game, I'll still commend your players, I'm not taking away tactics, but more was from the efforts from players. You can read and watch post match analysis. |

olabode89:Are you implying that passion wasn't a major factor? |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by olabode89(m): 9:37am On Mar 10, 2020 |
Fkhalifa:Of course local derbies will usually arouse a lot of passion from both teams therefore some passion is expected from our players. My issue was the ballant disregard of the tactics employed by United especially when the same tactics was utilized in 3 of our previous games against City that led to 2 victories. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by olabode89(m): 9:38am On Mar 10, 2020 |
Spy360:I am implying that tactics as much as passion led to the victory especially when the same tactics led to 2bwins out of 3 in our previous encounter this season. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 9:50am On Mar 10, 2020 |
olabode89:While you are not wrong. In games of such magnitude, passion is the biggest factor because it takes passion to make any tactic work. |

Spy360:Well...442 go hardly work. At least, not with the personnel we're having. Also, have you noticed most teams don't use 442 now? Cos of games presently revolves around control of the game and possession-based. With 442, against a team that uses 4231(which wasn't predominant around 2000-2004), our midfield will just collapse. Even against the modern day 433, our midfield will so collapse too. |

Fkhalifa:I swear...you see that team? Aside KANU that might look like a weakling in that squad, then rest and MEN, both in skills and strength. They can't compare it with the current arsenal presently. |

Spy360:Arsenal fan that doesn't know his starting lineups.... What is Kanu doing in the starting xi when a player like berjkamp was around |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Spy360(m): 3:49pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Jodera:No. In total football model, there can be variations. For example, you have two strikers leading he press when defending, or one of the strikers drops into the midfield, or shunts to the side while one of the wingers shifts into the middle, or one of the centre midfielders drops into the CB position to form a 5 man defense. All these depends on the opposition and situations. The good thing about this formation is it's balance. This was what I noticed after watching some of our pass matches in the good old days. We had the possession and slick movement, the press, the goals, one on one situations etc. Even the defense was solid. I wondered why Wenger chose to change to a 4-5-1 just because of Fabregas. The 4-4-2 days were so electric. I wished those days could return. |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 4:18pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Spy360:Actually, wen I called KANU weakling was that he wasn't a starter. I mean, throughout the league I'm not sure his starting appearances reached 10 sef for league. Total appearances that season was 30 for KANU(including Carling, fa, and league). How then is he a regular in arsenal team. A team featuring Henry, Pires, Bergkamp, Ljumberg and Wiltord in attack. Where him wan dey start? |

Jodera:KANU wasn't that a weakling, he is more like Mahrez, he wasn't weak in thought and ability, just the low energy and pace. Kanu will take you on,win fouls and penalties. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 5:23pm On Mar 10, 2020 |

| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 5:26pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Fkhalifa:When I said he was the weakling, was not literal. I said it cos he wasn't in our 1st eleven in that 2003/2004 season. (Just like, not our Strong 11). I didn't mean he doesn't have the required skills in thought, process or ability. |
