Do Banishment Still Works In A Democratic System? by AlexyA(m): 4:43pm On Mar 10, 2020
In light of the recent events regarding to the deposed Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido and his banishment, I was left cracking my head to ascertain if a citizen can be banished from a certain area.

Fundamental human rights is entrenched in the Nigeria constitution where freedom of movement and assocation is clearly stated. Is it that the emirate law endorse banishment?. From my little knowledge, the Nigeria constitution is above any known laws in the land and must be adhered to.

To the Well knowledgeable law practitioners, Is the banishment of Emir Sanusi in accordance to the constitution or does it contravene the stipulation of the law?
