So much tenants killing landlords nowadays. I think I will just build and put goats and sheep there.
I can't come and die
They will still be your tenants and can also do as a tenant!

The landlady na troublesome one. Felt the man banged instead of knocking, so she stayed back but when d door was broken, she came out to fight.

You don't know why d tenant was "banging" what if na emergency? All these face me I face u landlord/landlady sef
If you had read through critically, you will see where she said she wasn't strong enough to open the doors as early as 5:30am. But they insisted she be in possession of the keys. If he knew he is an early riser why didn't he agree to hold the keys

undecided The importance of keeping your calm in provoking situations cannot be over-emphasized. Trust me, that flash of anger is not worth it. Don't do something you'll regret forever. So many ppl walking about with dormant life threatening diseases looking for whom to activate their death clause.. Therefore, avoid physical confrontations and fights as much as you can. It's not worth it!
Absolutely. Now, according to the report, "Lateef was in a hurry going to work at 5am". Now that the police arrested him, who will go to work for him? From there he will be remanded in Prison pending advice from Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP) because i am certain the police will arraign him in a magistrate court, and they cannot try that matter hence must seek advise from DPP, on the murder or possible manslaughter case he may be charged! By and large, this is the end of his living in that compound. He may change residence. Change his children school. change his lifestyle. That is if he is availble to do that o. The Police/judiciary will alter his life pattern. How will he face himself remembering all he needed to do was either exercise patience or politely beg for assitance in opening the gate.?
So many times some people are very aggressive, and until someone is hurt or even dies before they realise their error.
Lesson: Patience is a virtue. Cultivate it. When someone abuses you...God punish you...e no go better for you and all of that...he is looking for a fight or trouble. Trouble he may not withstand. In such situations try and laugh it off. Walk away if possible. All the abuses them don they abuse us, I haven't seen one hurt it has caused. Wisdom is profitable to direct.

Sure they agreed, it was not the next day the tenant woke to leave this early. He has been complying with the time, then there arises a need for him to leave early, the landlady heard d knocks, did not check to know why, did not send her wards, she stayed put bc her rules are cast in stone or her tenants are In prison, what if someone is been rushed to hospital? Landlady will stay put bc tenant banged and did not knock?

How come she had strength to come out only when d door was broken? She is a wahala woman

The man is truly violent n he lacks respect too... Just see where that act has landed him in now...Anyway rest in peace to the landlady.

One of the disadvantages of living with your landlord.
Some tenants are from hell undecided

It's not all the time that it's the landlord or landlady's fault

The tenant don buy market for himself. So, he has to buy the coffin, the burial ground, the ambulance, and all the burial needs. before he will then face his jail term.
God forbid that I should fight anyone in this Bihari time because a lot of people walking on the street are just walking corpse. If you check the medical record of some people you will understand what I'm saying. Can you imagine just one person battling with hepatitis, tuberculosis, cancer, diabetes, etc. What do except such a person?
like seriously huhor u just kidding?

look at this one o! how will you feel if someone starts violently banging your door early in the morning? Try to treat and do things respectfully na abi your parents didn't teach you to respect other people?
Re: Tenant Pushes Lagos Landlady To Death Over Door Closure by Abiodun86: 5:54pm On Mar 10, 2020
Patience and impatience work simultaneously

Why not embrace patience

Don't be silly!

If someone allegedly banged at your door as I don't believe d tenant woke and started banging, what are u expected to do? Ignore or find out why?

Tenant obviously knocked and the landlady ignored bc she feels she is god that has rules.

Balance your sense of reasoning. Respect begets Respect. U dont know why d tenant was knocking, u ignored him until he broke d damn prison door

When you enter a public bus, passengers who don't have the complete transport fare make the most noise.

Same with tenants.

If you spend one night in jail, you will have sense.

When people push you to claim your right in public, you will tell them NO...

Pray not to be in that tenant's shoe.

30 minutes hurry can become 30 years jail time.

good talk. I think the tenant will regret that push for a long time especially depending on how far the lady's family are willing to take it. It doesn't pay to allow yourself to be provoked. Some people already wish to die, they are just looking for people who will push or fight them n and be scapegoats.

You people don't get the message. Both the landlord and the tenants agreed to lock the gate by 11 PM and open 5:30 AM this for their safety.

I see no reason why the man didn't inform his landlord about his move so the woman can prepare herself to open for him 5:00 AM that he wanted to go out.
Whatever the case is, she was supposed to, at the very least open the gate for him and warn him not to do that again or revisit the issue with maybe a fine. FYI, if you set a rule and someone wants to go against the rule, like in this case, you even give them that "one time privilege". Also, how can you prevent a grown man from leaving? It's like holding someone hostage. He might have an emergency that he didn't plan for. Then he broke the door or gate, what do you do? you hold onto his shirt. Worst case you ask him to fix it or fix it and have him pay or take him to court. In all of this i see the landlady's fault.

Poverty don reset una mind.

Money, u no get, Humility, u too no get.

I believe someone who has no money to relocate should at least tolerate some landlords excesses till he has enough money to relocate.

But no, what we see is the reverse. The most troubleshooting tenants are the penury ones.

They will be the first persons to instigate other tenants against an innocent landlord. Ask him his rent status, he is owing for 6months.

The rat in the pile..

The man broke the door because he was in a hurry to go to work, would he be able continue the work now?

We need to learn to manage our anger
Best comment so far. He was in a hurry to go to work where they pay him peanut where one year salary may not even generate savings to pay for the rent; a job where the owners can say they don't want you again. People will be worshipping their peanut jobs. Am sure his employers will not even help to bail him out should the option arise. Nonsense!!

Beside non of the tenants agreed to be the one opening and closing the gate wen she asked and she also stated in the meeting that she's not strong enough to be waking up as early as 5 to 5:30am.

I'm not blaming anyone. but anger management is very important in our dailies.
