Did i hear you just say Chloroquine. ? please shove that thought, somewhere. Some weeks ago, there was jubilation on thd Nigerian Social media space that Chloroquine, came through as the Saviour, but then, one of the biggest impediment to Nigerian Journalism is the fact that we are more drawn to sensationalism than deep research requiring wide Reading.

After getting the chloroquine news, I went online and a couple of research revealed that, there where 3drugs that where being tested for Covid19, among them being Chloroquine, anx contrary to what that was goin round on our media space here, news reports had it, that it will take months, before the effectiveness of any of the drugs can be fully communicated out, but trust our Nigerian folks, most of us had gone to clinics to hoard up enough chloroquine to last through Covid 19 apocalypse.

Do does this mean theres no hope whatsoever ? hell no, there's hope, infact lots of it, Chloroquine itself has not been totally ruled out, its still been tested, and there are even more drugs that are more effective than Chloroquine that are being tested.

Scientist around the world are working round the clock to tackle one of the biggest threat to mankind in the Mordern era, and according to most interviews, getting a vaccine ordinarily takes lots of years of testing first on rats, then round table discussions with regulatory bodies, then test on humans, then production and mass, mass production, and according to medical scientist, this takes 4 to 5 years, at which stage the Virus or mankind would have been in total oblivion. However, scientists are working round the clock and have discovered a strain of the virus that will be effective in training the body on how to better spot and fight the Corona Virus, and with the pandemic nature of the viral disease they are in talks with pharmaceutical companies and agencies on how to experiment the drugs and the timeline for a vaccine is in a years time.

A years time. that's way too long, you may say as I am, but then, when we watch Zombie movies, we are greeted with the very realities of what that might happen when the far reaching consequences of a drug is not being fully tested before being released to the Public.

But be that as it may, we may not have to Wait that long before mankind will mount its own attacks against the virus, According to research, the Virus is called Corona because it looks like a crown with pointed tips, these tips help the virus to attach itself to the host body cells, after which it destroys the cell and then Spreads to other cells, Scientist have discovered an antibody that can be made to locate and attach itself to the virus, thereby making it hard for the virus to attach to cell organs thereby halting its spread. As good as this news is, the scientist were only able to get this far, because they had been experimenting on SARS (a family member of the virus that has been around, that moves from chickeb to humans) and once tested on the Novel Corona Virus, it was effective. Be that as it may, the test is currently done on Lab rats, and will soon be tested on humans, and according to the Scientist, in a few months time, we will have a drug that will be on the front line in the fight against the Virus, that has brought the whole world to its Knees and has mos economies on total decline.

So there you have. For now the best form of fighting the Virus is through Prevention, the Holy pope has stated that the Easter Celebrations this here will be held without people, all sporting activities round the world are mostly on postponed. For now washing of hands and social distancing happens to be the most effective means of containing the Virus that currently has 110,000 confirmed cases and 4500 dead bodies to its name. The Plague aka the black death lasted from 1346-1351 and killed almost 200million people. Mankind was able to survive and overcome it. these too we will overcome.
