The car brings more headache than pleasure on the long run, that's the message, it's not an issue of shouting "its not my portion"... it's for him to mentally prepare and take all necessary precautions to avert impending disaster instead of relaxing and start cruising and abusing of vehicles like we Nigerians are famously known for

I don't need that from you... Keep that for someone else.

Na you go tell me how I go take the precautions?

This thread is a sure place to relax after a tedious day at work. Gbas gbos everywhere. If it's not the Toyota fan boys Vs Honda Civic crew today, it's the so-called expert who probably don't own a side mirror.

But in all honesty, there's lots of sense in these discussions. I'm really learning fast only sey my money never reach anywhere.

Meanwhile, three types of cars never ceases to catch my fancy here.

1- Acura MDX maybe 2007 or something sha.

2- Pontiac Vibe 2006 - 2008

3- The Almighty Toyota Camry 2007 - 2009.

All of them are within my budget. A good Samaritan should please enlighten me more about these cars; their comparisons, pros & cons, etc.

I still remember my first laptop - an HP Pavilion series 6. I bought that system for over 60k and it was very clean. After using the system for a month or two, it developed sound problem. From a sound problem, it entered keyboard and then from keyboard, it crossed to screen. Finally, it graduated to the motherboard and shortly, the system died. I sold it as scrap for less than 20k.

I felt real bad. While its protracted sickness lasted, I decided to do a little Google research about it. Lo and behold, HP Pavilion series was (and is still) like a curse child. It must bring one problem or the other now and then. I must confess that I didn't do any research before buying the system because all the information about it was online. HP won't even help anyone to fix the issues. I learnt my lesson the hard way.

After my experience and since then till now, I warn people about HP Pavilion series - quite sleek but almost useless. It'll definitely die in your hands and soon too. All the stubborn people I know and warned had my similar experience and would come back to say, "I wish I listened to you." The system had slumped and died in their hands.

What am I saying in essence? Do your research before placing order for anything. For cars, Edmond holds a lot of information. Quora is also a good place to ask questions. If you don't do your research before buying, you might likely regret. There's no point feeling bad because someone is warning you about their experience with a product. They might mix their counsel with emotions because of their experience with the product in question. Learn the lesson and correct yourself in anyway possible before it's too late.

I remember in those days I'd tell people, "Throw this sh!t away or sell it off. It'll breakdown in your hand. It's a beautiful nnonsense." Truly, HP Pavilion series is a pure money waste. For cars, I don't know much about them but had to research about mine before paying for it.

While we appreciate the amount of interest this thread has generated, it is however important that we all bear in mind the purpose of this thread, and stick to it. The fact that we ignore derailing posts does not mean that it is right... we expect people to know better and behave accordingly.

Most of them can't even afford tyres but are always quick to criticise another person's choice. What good will it do to tell someone that a car he already spent money on is scrap? Is that not plain evil?! Why can't you just be happy for him and hope to buy yours too soon? Did you have to be a kill joy? He wasn't asking for your unwarranted opinion, try giving it to someone that actually asks for it. Little wonder why those that bought cars through this thread rarely come back to give reviews cos most of y'all are a bunch of sadists! Channel your frustration elsewhere and quit being bitter and negative, everyone mustn't conform to your choices!

The way that guy called that newly bought car scrap is enough to send someone into depression and pain.

That car is a nice ride and if driven with care it wil l last the test of time. That a vehicle is Recalled back doesn't mean that its s scrap. Was venza not Recalled back and other brands.. But today its still selling here in Nigeria any day anytime.

If they do the enlightenment here, it will derail the thread. Why not go do real life question to real people you see driving these cars rather than audio car owners here?

lol

you people are very funny

in my first post on this Volvo T6 issue, I said it was from personal experience

several years back, I went against advice from an expert and bought a 2005 Volvo XC90 T6, even after reading all the horrifying stories online, my reaction was exactly what some of you are saying here:

it will not happen to me, those people did not take care of the car well, any issue can be repaired, people are just hating and beefing me and my fine ride

brethren, let me tell you I took care of that car like the bible, Castrol oil back then was expensive but i used Castrol oil, the best of everything

one morning on my way to work, this baby of mine stalled on 3MB, that was the last time I enjoyed that ride

don't say kazeem this or that because an expert used the official Vida software to diagnose the ride and after 3 transmissions each of which lasted like 2 months, we had to scrap the car at owode

let the benefit of years of experience help you, nobody cares enough about you to beef you or hate you

valarinz has sold more than 100 volvos over the years, he also specializes in volvos, which was why I mentioned him in my initial post

at the end of the day, you can either learn from others if you wish or you can stick your head in the sand and fall into the same trap as them

This is the exact same reason I like Nigerians

The same people that will call Valarinz and Fentanyl "haters", will still warn their friends about purchasing the same car. In fact, they'll be grateful for such information

Congratulations to Mr Joseph for his new ride, and thank you Valarinz and Fentanyl for the enlightenment

You said well bro, but did you ask the Guy what year T6 he bought? And I also expected you to add that the troublesome T6 has been rectified in the new models above 2006 , from 2007 T6 mounted with 3.2L engine 6 gears are the beast after the V8 models..., below 2006 T6 were the bad model years with 4 gear.
Anyone interested in Volvo cars should be rest assured volvos are reliable brand, those T6 below 2006 are the black sheep.

theres no 07 T6.its either T6 or something else.the SI6 from 2007 does not have a T.the Yamaha V8 also does not have a T.theres a reason volvo stopped the T6 from being it's most powerful xc90 from 07.truth is bitter and that might be why the truth about T6 is generating all these rancour

Everything about this car is a top notch - the neatness in and out, great transmission, like-new tyres, sound engine, chilling AC, everything is just perfect....

The way it moves on highway is just amazing. It picks up immediately and zoom off... Seriously, nothing can be compared to V6 engine... I couldn't believe it as well.

Thanks once again Boss, more and more deals ahead! I'm more than grateful!

"Volvo XC90 T6 AWD"
Congrats sir

Well I also have a tokunbo Lexus Es300 2000 model for just N950,000 very sound engine AC n gearbox.
That price is a giveaway.
