I'm afraid the options of palliatives are very limited, the non oil sector of the economy is still very weak, most manufacturing COYS depend on import of raw materials. During the last recession we should have invested say $2 billion on agriculture mechanisation, that way we would have catalysed the agric sector thereby increasing food production.

This is the equivalent of going to tell a bald man about sporting waves hair cream ..This is a waste of meeting because Buhari has no inherent capacity to provide solutions to anything , the survival of the Economy will again rely on the resilience of the average Nigerian and not from any input from Buhari as he doesn't have the capacity to provide such
You sound so incoherent and empty anytime you struggle to make a point. I am sure you looked at yourself and you are judging others based on your level.

Another set of slow people. This meeting should have happened at the end of January immediately Wuhan began a lockdown. That is when I started warning about the economic consequencea of a potential pandemic.

Just too slow in this country. Our so called intellectuals and experts are just glorified sunday soccer pundits. What the hell is the Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies for. Why can't they ever forcast grave national challenges and profer solutions to the govermemt that gives them so much money.

The budget is based on $57/barrel.
Current price is $26/barrel and still sliding.

Trust Nigerians. They will carry on like they can't see the handwriting on the wall. Venezuela 2.0 is currently loading for Nigeria. The FG is already talking about devaluation of naira. A bag of rice at N50K is not far-fetched.

Import-dependent economy? Oil-dependent economy. It is a double whammy. Running to churches to bind and cast ain't gon cut it. Let's see how this plays out.

Cash is king! Money in the banks is at risk. Locked banks' entrance gates and stern-looking armed MOPOLs. Then you can kiss your fund bye.

Its a global thing. Everyone need to create a plan B.
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE REST OF THE NIGERIAN POLITICIANS HAD NEVER HAD A PLAN B.

BUHARI IS EVEN STUBBORN TO INSTRUCTIONS.

How can this large country called Nigeria rely on only one major source of earning revenue.

The drop in crude oil price just scatter the federal government budget which the politicians even implement haphazardly.

Nigerian don't have any sustainable institutions..it takes events of this proportions to expose our weak internal socio economic structure.

I do dispatch job and I can tell you the kind of things being imported into this country is not what one can imagine. All soughts. I mean all soughts. There are stuff I don't know what they do or mean even after many explanations.

My point we are a country predominately determine on importation. We are literary leaving off other nations. If they are closing up, we are technically doing the same even if we want to or not. The difference is they have sustainable internal infastructures in place. We dont.

We are looking at a stress period for the economy going by this. We need to buckle up.
If corona don't kill us, Hunger may.

tell us one solution Buhari has ever provided or shut up !!! The fact you support such an empty man tells me the state of your intelligence .

6 years in Buhari has not achieved even one thing , he hasn't improved security, hasn't improved power supply, hasn't fixed a single refinery , has improved our corruption ratings , hasn't improved healthcare , hasn't improved infrastructure, hasn't improved the Economy for one day , hasnt attracted FDI , didn't improve our electoral process instead made it worse than ever, hasn't improved human rights , hasn't improved the general standard of living yet you support him and that says all about the quality of brain in your head

Nigeria is prepared but you might not be.
If countries like US, Canada, China, Asia, Europe, South Africa, Latin America, - am talking about nations with steady power supply and ability to produce ventilators. If these nations are taking a hit, Nigeria is definitely not ready. For your info, these nations also pray and have faith.

At least there will be a perfect excuse for Buhari this time
Exactly what I was thinking. The guy is a non-performer who always finds something to pin his incompetence on.

Anyways, we're still in recession since 2015... as somebody else posted, we've only managed to deal with the hard times. Nothing has been good since 2015.
