@ Voltron,
I don't seem to understand why u heap the blames on populace and leave out the leadership. It doesn't make sense. U called the popuplace highly uneducated, unimaginative, unproductive and expecting to live like Jayz. Where do u get that from?
same populace that agitated for and govt eventually agreed to pay minimum monthly pay of 30k( less that 100 dollars) How do they expect to live like Jayz with that??
How many of these 200m populace does govt cater for in terms of social welfare as done in the countries with 'productive' populace? and yet how many of these populace do u personally feed daily since they are unproductive and most likely poor without food? The answer to the 2 questions if not zero, is infinitesimal compared to the country's population. And yet, these unproductive poor people eat everyday, clothe and strive to send their kids to school and all that. How do they do manage these while being highly unimaginative and unproductive?
A drive around town will show u myriads of informal enterprises being undertaken by these 'highly unimaginative' populace to keep body and soul together.
They do what they can given the environment they are faced with. A country of 200m still grappling with 3k megawatts of electricity does not support production anywhere in the world. It's not the popuplace's duty to provide electricity. Heap the blames to the right quarters.

If Jay-Z was under the current laughable state of our dear country, Even Jay-Z won't live like Jay-Z.

What I'm saying is... Government owes a responsibility to not only draw up budgets and hope to fund it from dwindling preexisting sources of fund, but it also has to set up measures to revamp dying sectors of its economy to boost its revenue....so if crude crashes entirely.. Would we stop/call off governance?
now that you're done criticizing, what do you expect the government to do to be able to fund the budget

Until the masses get productive and pay enough tax, nothing is going to change. Our income is too minimal to effect the amount of change we desire. The opposition will make average person think the government on power are just sharing money. Give them power, and the reality will hit them. That's what happened to APC. Nigeria is poor. Quote me anywhere

Spare me that.

What percentage of the population are achievers?

Haven't you heard about 14 Nigerians arrested for fraud in the USA, just this week? That is not wholly representative of us, neither are these hardworking people you are referring to.

Yes, we are capable .......

Quickly.

A quick one...... Are you one of the underachievers?

Do you know what criticism is?

You mentioned increased taxation for things to be better... Do you think booming economies such as China, Singapore et al thrive on taxation of its citizens only?

The duty of governance is to formulate policies that will enhance the productivity of its people!

Do you know how may startups fold up each year due to the unhealthy work environment of the country? Have you tried setting up an enterprise in today's Nigeria?

About my recommendation, we have become too relaxed as a country depending on Crude.... Remember the glorious Nigeria in the times when we were a agricultural export country! Now we're consumers... We have great human resources... What are the policies in place to maximize these potential?

I did not invent our GDP per capita which is less than 2000 dollars and on that basis, 30k per month, is perhaps the best the government can muster.

I insist we are unimaginative hence the low GDP per capita. I'm not a solving government of a lack of imagination but as I often say, you cannot get apples from a maize farm.

I tell you, we have so much raw materials to create various things the world would desire but do we?

We talk of power supply but have we found a local solution to the problem?

If we haven't, its because we aren't thinking.

I would continue to beat this drum - produce or perish.

The populace is unimaginative, uneducated and highly unproductive.

This is the stark reality.

Take out this leader, bring in a new set, the situation would be the same until the people realise they aren't actually inventive.

I will say one thing though, the lack of imagination is partly due to environment. When your day to day life is consumed with basic survival and hustling for a meal, you cannot have the time to focus your imagination. If you have spent too much of your early years in poverty, you may never be able to develop a proper imagination

is it when i am running on the street to sell enough gala to feed the family for the night i will be thinking about a new operating system?
bill gates, elon musk, sergei brin etc - the innovators - they did not grow up poor.

even your so called work /creative time can be lost over here. i wake up at night to do some work nepa takes light . okay. lets switch over to gen. gen suddenly decides it will not come on. change oil, change spark plug [all by car head lamp]. you finally get the gen up and running, but whatever work you planned on doing has been knocked out of you.

Nigerians are the saving grace of the system of hypocritical negligence that abounds in governance today
Not actually true. They are just a handful, truth is that we don't have people who have changed the world with ground breaking discoveries and the rest, even Phillip Emegweali I thought was legit was a fraud at the sour end.

Bottom line is crude oil price has fallen to around the same level it was during OBJ first time as civilian president. Question is how much was petrol during OBJ first term, and how much is Buhari regime calling fuel now? Your guess is good as mine. Buhari regime petrol reduction is a big scam. Petrol should be selling N20 per liter now maximum

Nigerians generate an average of 2000 dollars annually.

What miracle are you expecting?

A man produces only 2 thousand dollars of wealth annually but believes he should be living like Jay-Z.

Get real.

Hahaha, where did you get the 2000k dollar from? 30k minimum wage is not up to 2000k or maybe you don’t live in Nigeria if you did, you will know Nigeria is the Poverty Center of the world
