This is about doing what suits you.
I have an active bolt account but stopped working with it after making enumerations of the disadvantages attached to working on bolt, I decided to work only with the app that gives a peace of the mind.
I can't display what I make here but I believe there are people who work smartly and not running around the whole state believing they are moving lagos. The highest surge on taxify is 1.9 while I have taken 3.~ severally on Uber, and an average surge I chase on Uber is 2 and above.

How can you compare 5% with 3% that has been making several killing right from Tuesday to Sunday (count it and see that's a whole 5 days of lesser stress).
You also said bolt fares are higher?
Riders claim bolt is cheaper while drivers say bolt pays higher, now tell me who is the serpent deceiving both parties and that is one of the reasons (bolt is deceitful) I dumped them.
Surge only makes their fares defer but same when no surge.
( Uber: 11/min, 60/km, 200 base fare) (bolt: 10/min, 65/km, 200km base fare). I would like to know the difference on a 20km trip.

Like I said earlier that it is whatever rocks your boat.
i can agree to whatever rocks your boat, but enumeratively, bolt gets more brownie points.

First off, uber's 12hrs daily is a disaster.

You waste valuable fuel trying to get home after your time elapses. That surely counts against uber.

2.Everyone on ehailing runs around Lagos, moving Lagos. That's not really a point against bolt but actually a point for because since its the preferred app by riders, you tend to get trips from any part of Lagos at anytime. And riders tend to take longer trips on bolt than on uber. More kms driven = more money. And since uber is not the preferred in some areas, I can also argue that uber drivers waste more fuel driving around. It's also an established fact that uber drivers have the longest pickup kms.

3. The highest surge on isn't 1.9, but 3.0. You don't really need to chase a surge on bolt because it basically always almost there most of the daytime on weekdays and most of whole time on weekends. Weekends are amazing because of the distance trips on bolt. You really can't compare 65/km to 60/km. What that means is that a bolt driver makes 5k more weekly, than an uber driver if they both do 1000km a week, which would even be difficult for the uber Guy because of his hair restrictions.

4. Because of greater demand especially on Sunday's, it's easier to gross over 35k on bolt and pay a 5% of 1750 which brings net earnings on a Sunday to over 30k. It's practically impossible on uber even with 3%

False.
they are.

Shortest distance is 500 as against uber's 400, and a 5ngn advantage per km. It adds up in the long run.

Driving on Bolt is flexible, yes their App is annoying but it’s still the best platform to drive on in Lagos imho.

Uber is trying to maintain international standards, they have forgotten that this is Nigeria where there are no good roads, safety and security of life is almost zero.

On bolt I can cancel at will. On Uber it’s a different ball game entirely.

I am trying everything possible to stay out of trouble, so in other to achieve this I decided to stop driving on the Mainland. (It’s like they have their head wired differently there) I only take trip to the Airport, immediately I drop the rider I’m setting destination back to Island whether I get a trip or not I’m less concerned, I’m driving straight to VI or Ikoyi to continue my work.

I’m very sure if I drive on Uber, I won’t last two weeks before they booth me out tongue

Two more trips to complete, and I’ll be on 5% commission.

5% Commission or 5% Commission bonus?

Have you observed after meeting up with the trip requirement to activate the commission, your subsequent trips gets bonus that would be added to your earnings.
What does that bonus mean to you?

This people are scamming us with confused grammar.

Literally, what they mean with 5% commission bonus is, you get 5% commission on every trip fare you embark which to be added to your earnings while they remove their own normal 20% commission so meaning you are paying 15% commission on your trips after meeting up with their requirements....

If you are doubting, try to do calculations when you hit the number of trips required to activate it then note your 1st subsequent trip after meeting up and calculate 5% of that trip, you will notice its that amount that is added as bonus to your earnings and also calculate the 20% of that same trip and you will notice the 20% is what is added to their outstanding commission....

Corona virus is reducing activity in Lagos.

Started my day around 10am after the usual Thursday sanitation. The 1st trip took me to unilag. Na so the movie start ooo.... 2.3x surge around there.... and I waited patiently at fagunwa hall. Bang, a request came; 1.9x 90+ minutes destination trip.
My phone rang afterwards;
Me: hello
Rider: where are you (me wey dey vex for that kind response overlooked because of the superior 1.9x factor)
Me: fagunwa
Rider: ok, I'll be with you in 2 minutes.
Me rush go buy Pepsi and rite..... I look to check the countdown time..... omo I just saw RIDER CANCELED.
Immediately, my phone rang,
Rider: pls sorry I had to cancel because I need to wait for someone.
Me: no wahala.
20 seconds later, another request came and it was same rider but with no surge this time.
Rider: hello, where are you?
Me: same place I told you earlier
Rider: pls come pick me, I'm ready now
Me: (pick kill you there, you use style avoid surge abi) where am I taking you to?
Rider: giwa
Me: where's that?
Rider: after fagba
Me: nibo, I'm not sure i want to start my day with such trip. Pls cancel and reorder.
Rider: it will still bring me to you.
Me: don't worry i already went offline.
Na so I japa.... later got 1.7x to sabo and the rest was history........ found myself in toyin Ikeja.... the major movie show oo.
A trip of 1.2x surge with a yoruba name
Got to the pick up and guess what I saw......
A Chinese oooo, covered with all gadgets and having bags.
For my mind i say yes I yaff enter finally.
I drove close to him and i saw my details on his phone, na there i weak. The 1st thing that came thru m mind was STIGMATIZATION... had to adopt some verses from the holy book and I accepted my fate.
Rider: pls can I keep my stuff at the back?
Me: sure (i started trip and it was VI that i just came from to Ikeja)
Rider; thanks
Me: (grabbed my bottle of sanitizer) do you mind?
Rider: sure
Me: (you for refuse make I change am for you na)

The next thing was, the rider reduced the AC to the minimum saying his not too okay. I swear fear gripped me immediately. I switched of the radio and started monitoring every sound, especially his breathing pattern. I swear his breathing pattern was like that of an owl. He was struggling to breathe.
B4 I got to ziatech road the guy held the left part of his chest. I began to pray inside me oo.
The next thing I heard from him was; after drinking something from a vacuum stainless cup..
Rider: do you have bluetooth?
Me: yes I do. Its x8 you can connect.
To cut all the long story short, I drove on a free 3MB at 70km the max. I was cautious not to swerve the steering wheel so he wont even shift his body.
His cough episodes gave me vibrations that 3310 couldn't compete with. Immediately I dropped him, omo na every 5 mins sanitizer oo. Belt and handles. The only rider I picked afterwards sat at the back and ended the day and washed the car and clean the interior.

May God bless us all.
NB: if you must work, pls be mentally alert and pls be conscious and cautious abeg. The thing real oo.

Bros I have an active Uber account and am no longer on 3% should I still continue with Uber? Moreso I can set destination anytime I like I can also cancel trip without me driving to riders pick up point and so many more
Bros I really dont know what you need, I'm not a uber staff so I can't provide answers to these questions of yours.

But why are you no longer on the 3% incentive? Have you try finding out from uber?

Assuming 1hr trip duration.
Bolt. 1680
Uber 1545

Difference. Bolt operator gets ₦135 more.

Seems pretty insignificant @ dis point, but if we look at 12 trips at same rate.

You have covered about 10 litres of fuel cost, which in my opinion is pretty good.

Did you say you earn more driving with bolt? I dont think i would want to agree with you on this.

The other day Romoe3 said one can groose 35k daily driving with bolt, na so my longerthroat long and since I didn't work Mon-Wed that particular week I said let me give bolt a try as my 3% after 20 trips on uber would be like a waste of energy.
Thursday all tru I did bolt, continued friday. 12noon I checked my pocket na only 3k dey, fuel in tank was below half I just dey vex... Switched over to uber immidiately, b4 Saturday 4pm the next day I'd already completed my 20 trips. Monday the following week uber credited my account with about 10k.
I was able to pay my 25k weekly rental just within 12noon Friday and still had some money left to spend for myself and family.

Now Tell me, would I had met up my target with bolt within this short period? Obviously NO!

You c money on your dashboard driving with bolt but you truly can't account for it but with uber its totally difference.

Kindly throw more light on No.3 because I really don't understand what you mean by 40% cancellation allawee.

Then you're right with your other submit. I givebthem 100% on those.

Nevertheless, I still believe uber is way better when compare to bolt.

Uber temporarily axed my acct @ 13% cancelation. and they carry over ur cancelations.

Bolt, for every 40 trips you get, you are allowed to complete 18-20 trips, you are fine.

On Monday morning, you start afresh as regards cancelation issues.

Wateva suits you. Like I said. Knowing d intended destination is non negotiable for me.

As long as I can see where I'm heading to. Bolt is the king.

Nope Baba you are d one dt misconstrued d whole concept.
5% commission after no of trips. Means dy deduct only 5%.

By default app deducts 20%. So if you get to d particular threshold of trips say 40.

It opens up another column for " bonus'

So app deducts 20% but adds 15% under bonus. Just plus n minus to help account reconciliation from their end.
