New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations-- I cannot bear your worthless assemblies....When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood!...See how the faithful city has become a harlot! She once was full of justice; righteousness resided within her, but now only murderers!Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves; they all love bribes and chase after gifts. When was the last time your pastors read out this scripture to the congregation , if ever. You see , Nigeria has witnessed blood shed on a massive scale since its inception and it is getting worse by the day. Violence, greed and more violence. Break down of the family unit, break down of kinsmanship, a break down of the normal relationship between man and woman and a total break down of leadership from elders , pastors, imams and parents. We need a national repentance starting at the community level and only then we can see real change begin to happen from the grass roots. For now, it is a deadly mess. |
